Additional Gamer Tags under main account

We have had the Xbox 360 for awhile but my sons were too young to "friend" anyone. That has changed, and now I want to set up their own gamer tags. I have tried looking through the Xbox settings as well as on Xbox.com and have only found how to add accounts
to Xbox One. Both boys have their own avatars. I looked online and it suggested that I have to create Microsoft accounts for both boys and then sign up. Will they still be associated with the XBOX Live account that I have? If they want to play against
each other (e.g. multiplayer MineCraft), do they both have to sign in and then play? Also, will I be the administrator for the account as both boys are under 18?

Probably easy stuff but we are just starting to wade into the world on-line gaming with friends.

I

received the beta recruitment at my email though my sons’ gamer tag,

registered under my gamer tag

and the forum main page has my brothers’ gamer tag over

riding my account.

So the question is this a big deal or can I post as

if there is no problems.

Creating profiles...,

Has anyone created additional profiles on their Ones for family members etc (not new accounts)?

I think I have but it had just appended my gamer tag with a "1", I can't see how to rename? On my 360 I had multiple profiles for various 'situations' and each was named accordingly. Any one else?

I have this same issue and need to figure out whether I can add my two sons to my Live account with their own gamertags. We are brand-new to the world of xbox, and the boys were telling their friends about it, and so I need to figure out how to get them
playing with their friends.

Anyone in the know will make a couple of families happy! Thanks for any help-

Thanks for your help. I think you got it as it seems when I renewed my gold it went under her gamer tag on the one console, not sure how this happened. Could it be that her account is the first one on the one? The one is both our main Xbox. When I renew
my gold is there a way to make sure it goes under my tag and not hers?

Actually your answer addresses the precise dilemma I am facing. So no apologies necessary. But there are some additional more specific questions I have on light of your response. They follow below...note that it is my desire to allocate all of the content such that going forward is is entirely concentrated under just one of my two gamer tags that are linked as primary account holders on the system. That said...

1. If the digital content was purchased via the one and only X box system I own, while logged on under the gamer tag that I wish to avoid using of the two primary account holder gamer tags, and using it's associated account (Hotmail or Outlook), do I have to always log that same gamer tag onto the system and then switch gamer tags in odrer to play that specific game using the gamer tag prefer to use and maintain as most active???

2. If I cancel a service such as live gold, that I purchased while logged in with the unwanted gamer tag and associated account, is all of the associated data for all of the users registered with my Xbox as their primary and singular home system then deleted or completely wiped from my system as well as from MS's cloud storage? Such that the person with the specific gamer tag that lost the information and data must then start from the beginning so to speak of the game and begin accruing more data and leveling up etc.?
