adding to xbox live gold

i feel kinda weird asking this. ive had xbox live for over 5 years and have never renewed my gold before it ran out but i wanna do it now. my gold runs out on the 17th of this month but i wanna buy a gold card now and renew it it asap cause i wanna renew
while i have the money. my question is if i get a gold card now and add it to my account before the 17th, will it add on to my subscription from the 17th or will it start from the day i add it on (for example if i do it today on the 9th will it start on the
9th)?????

You are correct, the Gold Membership will stack on top of each other. Meaning that it will add onto your remaining time. It will start as soon as your current membership ends so that you are not losing any valuable gold time.
