Adding my music to an external xbox one hard drive

I want to download music to my recently purchased external hard drive (that I have formatted to be an xbox one hard drive). How do i take the music on my computer and get it onto that drive? I know I can stream it from my laptop via a dlna setup, but I have
about 200 gigs of music and streaming is less than ideal. I want the music on the drive itself so I can use my xbox one as a juke box. I could do this on the 360 very easily but I can't figure for the life of me how to do it on the xbox one. Can anyone help.
Is there a way that i can simply plug a XO formatted drive to my PC and transfer the music? I can't find anything about this on the forums or anywhere else.

    :)

    Xbox one external hard drive

Is it possible for me to hook up the external hard drive for the Xbox One to the computer, burn all of my music cd collection to the hard drive and then after, hook up the external hard drive in the back of the Xbox One?

Just to explain, when i try to stream my 267 gig music collection I just get a rotating circle for an hour. I assume that I have too much data to stream in any reasonable fashion ... hence the desire to put it on the drive.

  5. If you format your HDD with the console you can only use it for Games and Apps'

To use an external HDD you can put your media files on it using your PC and will be used by your console as a music/video storage if you have a USB 2 HDD it will automatically be used as the media HDD remember you cannot mix Games/apps with media on the
    same HDD.

That does answer my question so thanks, but I really don't like the answer. I could save music on my 360 hard drive alongside games and apps. Why can't I do that on my xbox one? Actually, the 360 was a decent media player. It had visualizations. You could
sort by genre etc. Album art displayed. You could make playlists. Apparently I can't do any of that on my xbox one, which was billed as the "ultimate media box." Does this not seem odd to anyone else? I mean for christ's sake, the new box is a step backwards.
And it's not like MS doesn't know how to make a media player.

I don't mean to sound angry with you. I really appreciate the answer, it's more just a question for the forum. Does anyone else care about this lost functionality? Are there any plans to add it?

  9. Well there isn't anything I can do about that, I still have my 360 and I remember all the hackers cheaters and every other kind of low life, MS have their reasons for not doing certain things maybe that could be one of them, maybe you could put some ideas
in the feedback forums, there you can put some features you would like to see and others who like it will vote on it and see how it goes.

I'm hardly advocating for theft or hacking, just the ability to use my xbox one to play my own music. I thought this thing was supposed to be the "ultimate media hub." Seems a bit odd that one can't store media on it. I guess I'll get an hdmi cable and
simply use my smart tv. Really not impressed ... thanks for the help though. Seriously.
