    Adding friends on Minecraft for Windows 10


    My child is on my Microsoft family. He has his own login and uses it to play Minecraft on the computer. When trying to add friends he receives a message to change privacy and security settings. Im having trouble finding where the settings would be under
    my admin login so that he can add friends. Any suggestions?

    Sorry to hear you're having issues playing Minecraft with your friend between console and pc. Does your friend have the Windows 10 edition of Minecraft?

    Minecraft Java edition is not cross-play enabled. You would need Minecraft for Windows 10 to play with friends on other platforms.

    Minecraft on Game Pass Ultimate

    There is 2 versions of the game available for PC. Bedrock edition that is called Windows 10 and Java edition.

    Windows 10 is crossplay enabled with Xbox One, mobile and Nintendo Switch.

    Java is PC only.

    Minecraft is available for Xbox One console from Gamepass, have not been added to the PC library yet hopefully it will be added in the future.

    Hmmm, interesting. The blurb on the Minecraft for Windows 10 page in the Microsoft store says "Create, explore and survive alone or with friends on mobile devices, Switch, Xbox One and Windows 10".

    If they are talking about a different version of Minecraft then that needs to be made clearer because as it is currently written, it's very misleading.
