    Adding child to Xbox live on Xbox one


    Just added my daughter to my family account in Microsoft and on her xbox one. (have a son as well). Updated privacy settings to where she has access to just about everything, including unlimited purchasing authority. Input my credit card on her account
    and verified it was correct on my account. I have an Xbox Live Gold account. No problems with my son's abilities. She logged in without issue to xBox One. Tried to play a game purchased on our account by my son. Wouldn't let her play it. Had to buy
    it again. So I thought perhaps she has to have her own xBox Live account. Seems bogus for one household to buy the same game twice, but okay. Logged in to buy another xBox Live Gold membership for her. Go through all the steps. It gives me an error
    code that says purchases not allowed PUR3001. Please advise. I have checked and doublechecked that she has full authority on the privacy and security and billing pages.

    Problem with email address

    Hi there,

    Each Xbox Live Account will need it's own unique Email address.

    When setting up a Family you are basically grouping different Xbox Live Accounts into a small group. For example when adding child accounts too, both parents can see and maintaing the child accounts. For some additional information this link may help: Xbox One : Family

    To understand the setup a little bit better. Are all 3 of these accounts used on the same Xbox One console? If so, does the owner of the content have the console set as home? This is required in order to share content with other users on the console including
    Xbox Live Gold subscriptions without having to pay again.

    Unable to add a child account as a family member

    Hello Dan,

    There is no error displayed. I added Xbox Live account of my second child via Download Profile on Xbox. The account was added without a problem. Then I checked Settings > Family, but there was only an account of my first child. The same situation is on
    my XBox Live Account (on the internet); under Security, Family...-->Privacy & Online Safety. There is only first child too.

    Delete account will game progress still be there

    Keep in mind that after the child account is removed, it will not be able to use Xbox Live until they are added to another family account.

    You could do it with two Xbox Live accounts and two lots of the games. Their are four of you, depending on how many consoles (Xbox Ones) you are thinking of adding, depends on how to do it. If you have four consoles, for instance, you have Xbox Live Gold,
    so set child 1's console as your Home Xbox. They can then use your Xbox Live Gold and access your copies of the game. You set child 2 up with Xbox Live Gold, plus the second copy of the games and set child 3's console as Home Xbox. Child 2 and yourself can
    sign in on your own Xbox and use Xbox Live and the games you have.
