Adding another live account to same console

Hi , I have Xbox live account but my son has just received years live subscription and was wondering if it was allowed to operate 2 seperate accounts on one console , Ty

Xbox 360 to Xbox One back to Xbox 360 again..

As others have said, your Live account can be present on a 360 and X1 at the same time and you can be signed into Live on both consoles with this account at the same time.

Xbox is telling me to get Gold even though I have it?

Another way to attempt to fix this, is to remove the account from the xbox in settings->accounts-> remove accounts. After that is removed login with that gametag again to force the console to fetch your live subscription data. In rare cases your Xbox account and live account will lose sync.

On xbox one all accounts are covered by one live account, on 360 you can have 2 accounts just set up his own profile.

And if you go from the 360 to the ONE then the ONE will recognise the 360 profile once you link it.

Transferred to another console not account lol all profiles must be on the master console to be added to the family plan and then can be recovered to another console . But they need to be in the same region as the master account

To add the gamertags to your Family Plan all will need to be on the same console (ie: primary accounts), but once they are added you can recover each gamertag to another console and still remain an Xbox Live Family Plan Gold Member.

Make sure you can sign in with this exact same account at xbox.com or account.microsoft.com, sometimes people are using another account by accident. Also have you tried adding another account to the console?
