Adding a second Xbox One

The kids and I have been sharing one Xbox One since December, and playing all our different games under the same gamer tag. We are getting to the point where I'm willing to buy a second Xbox, however my concern is this: If we can only be logged into a
specific gamertag on one machine at a time, if I'm playing a game on one, does that mean that they won't have access to their saved game states on a second xbox at the same time, basically meaning hey would have to restart all their progress if I'm playing
on the other? We have game pass currently, would we need to have a second game pass subscription in order to play game pass games on both consoles at the same time?

So you can play 1 game on all 3 xbox's? Do you have everyone set up under the family plan for the main gamertag? I had 2 xbox's made the kids Xbox my home and they had no problem playing the games. But now I have three and I can't seem to get the same
game to play on the old one that use to ve mine without me signing in. How did you fix it? Help

Very good information, thank you. I would assume I'm correct also in saying that there isn't a way to move their save game states over to a new profile. I think I may be in better interest to just pick up a different platform for them, maybe a switch.
Neither them nor I would want to have to start all our current games over again.

There is no way of doing this. Sorry. They would have to start again. But if you stay with the idea of getting a second Xbox, at least they can still use the same games and services. If you move platforms, you would need to buy them again. Just make sure
they have there own Xbox profiles, added using the Microsoft family.

We have 3 Xbox Ones in my household for family gaming. If all of your Xbox subscriptions, like Live and Game Pass, are on your Gamer Tag, I would suggest designating your child's Xbox as your Home Console. This would allow sharing of those subscriptions

You are right about the same account. You cannot log in on two Xbox One consoles at the same time using the same account. So for your kids to use the new console, it would be best to create an Xbox account each. That way they can play the games without using
some ones save.

As for game pass, with the account that already has it, log in on the new console, and make it the home Xbox. That would allow your kids to use the Xbox and the games without needing the account with game pass to log in. More info on the home Xbox here
