  1. Adding a child to my new xbox one...

Ok, so I just bought an xbox one and wanted to add my daughters to the console. Back in the days of the 360, I was just able to give them a screen name and off we went. They could play the games and have their own saves/achievements. Now it's making me use
an email and everything else. I've tried the family settings, but it still wants an email address and all that.

Is there anyway to add my daughters without all that nonsense? I mean one is only 8yrs old for crying out loud and doesn't have, nor should have, an email address. Like I said, I could do this before on the 360 and currently on the PS4. In all honestly,
I'm regretting buying and xbox one now. it took all day to set up and download games, and now it appears I'll have to jump through hoops just to let my daughters play.

    Thanks in advance.

    :)

    Hello Antoine,

If there is not currently a parent account in existence, it would be best to create one, and then follow our

Unfortunately there's no way around it. Every Xbox One account has to have an email in order to sign in.

All ps4 and xbox one and 360 accounts need an email

I don't think you realize the issue

For off line accounts you don't need an email

But for all consoles online accounts must have an email regardless of company or console

It's how you sign in and recover your account regardless of where you are

  7. @ngocphi Oh, I completely understand that you need an email for online accounts, my point was that I should be able to create a local/offline account for my kids to play. And yes, I know if the system went *poof*, then they would lose everything, but still.

On the PS4 I was able to create a local account for my 8yr old in seconds, without email, DOB, blood/urine/stool samples. That's not meant to bash xbox or anything, just poking fun at all the info that's needed to sign in these days. =)

Thanks to both of you for responding so quickly. Now I have to figure out an email addy for my kiddo. Something tells me not to let her pick it. LOL.

    Happy gaming!
