Adding a child profile

I've read the article on how to add profiles to your "family" but I was wondering if there was a different way to add a child profile. My main concern is that you have to create a microsoft account and have an email to setup a profile. This seems a little
too much for me to add an account for a child of 5 years old. Is there another way to add a profile without having to do this or a way to use my account to setup another profile?

My husband added me as an adult to the (Xbox One) he is the live membership holder) my profile shows up and signs on fine. I have been trying to add my 9yo today, I created a sign on and when she tries to sign in it asks her to have an adult sign on, I
take the controller select I'm an adult, choose my profile, agree to microsoft terms then pay$.50 with my credit card on file to verify, then nothing. It goes through it all again, asking her to have an adult sign on and so on. So I've been charged $.50 multple
times and she cant sign on. How do I fix this?

 

Hi there, unfortunately no, to create an account so that they can play online needs to have an email address for security purposes, no one can see this email so it's not like they would get unsolicited emails from other users, but you can save the email
and password to the console so your child doesn't know those details as well as changing their security settings for what content they can see online, who can interact with them etc.
