Adding 15 to 30 minutes option to the DVR

I'm hoping in the next big update xbox raises the cap to 15 or 30 minutes to record longer gameplay for people who want to upload full games on YouTube or twitter or whatever 5 minutes just isn't long enough and I haven't been able to record a whole game
just bit and pieces of stuff

Longer Game DVR recordings

Though it's not a huge deal I wouldn't be against adding options for longer clips. Maybe a 10 or 15 minute option.

 

What happened to Five minutes?

I think the game DVR is on automatically.... and it always looping.... when you start a new clip... it kind of rsets the 5 minute clock to that point..... but yeah Fatal.. you need to open the Game DVR (not upload studio) and do what flare said....

the luxury of having the XB on while watching TV...

when you GOTO GAME DVR.. you have 3 options.... END CLIP OW, START NEW CLIP, SHOW MY CLIPS.... the END CLIP NOW then has 5 options... keep the last 30 seconds 45 seconds 1 minute 3 minutes or the full 5 minutes...

I see no need for it.. you want longer times.. invest in an external device that will give you more control of editing.. 30 seconds is fine... 5 minutes is too long

What we do not needmore of in this worls are 30 minutes clips of some kid running a quick scope montage on COD

 

just use twitch and then export from twitch

 

That is a good run around but the twitch quality is not native and is only as high as your ISP speed can handle

You can get a good capture device for >$100 now and they usually come with free editing software

 

Phew. There is no way, that I would watch a friends 15-30 minute game clip. Unless it was like an epic fight from UFC or Fight Night game. With that I am not apposed to others having it, or using it.

 

I'm not asking to change the 30 seconds random clip record just to add the option for people who do want to watch or record longer clips me personally I would like to record one of my madden game's and 5 minutes is to short but maybe 15 or 30 minutes is
good maybe even 10 minutes but just add it in as a option is all I'm asking.

5 minutes is long enough in my opinion. If I wanted to start a Youtube Channel I would invest in a capture card.

 

Some of us would like to keep our startup overhead as low as possible. Asking for more time length options is hardly unreasonable.

Besides if not to get around things like having to use a capture card and PC to make decent videos, why bother letting us capture video and upload directly to YouTube?

 

People don't have another 300 400 dollars to get a laptop capture card and the hook ups to do that I mean it wouldn't hurt and really why buy all that when you can just get it on an item you already got my xbox starts right up as it is. It not like everyone
gonna be upload long clips anyway as you can see if Microsoft adds this in i believe there would be less clips anyway because you would catch everything all at once in a match instead of bits and pieces of the match.

 

in all honestly... NOBODY wants to watch a half hour of someones gameplay..sure you may want to watch your own...

and if you do not have $300 for a device that YOU want.. why should someone give it to you for FREE??

and you can get capture cards for under $100.. and ones that will capture and be able to edit your clips MUCH better than what is in the XB1

 

Little hint.... Check the back of your TV.. see if it has a feed OUT.. or check the back of your PC.. see if you have a TV tuner IN... if you do.. just connect the two as the TV will output the feed.. your PC TV tuner will take it in... and then get PC
capture software, like MS has a few in the media center or FRAPS

if not... get a powered HDMI SPLITTER after the XB1.. one to TV one to PC... buy a cheap TV tuner card

so many ways around it
