    We need the ability to calibrate the xbox one controller analog stick to specific players.

    This would compensate for larger or smaller hands/thumbs; my fingers are long and so are my thumbs, this causes any attempt to move the thumb-stick left/right/up/down to actually move at slight angles and having this capability would compensate for that.

    This could be implemented through a "controller setup" area on the consoles settings page: you could have an automated settings area asking the player to move the analog stick left, hold it there and press a then repeat the process for right, up and down.
    Once left, right, up and down are known the software could determine the directions in-between (since those are all combinations of left, right, up and down).

    This would also enable recalibration for controllers experiencing dead-zones and drift....

    If we could calibrate the analog stick to read our left right up down as true left right up down and associate it with the player's gamer-tag, it would be a one-time setup feature that can follow a player from controller to controller and console to console....

    This would truly customize gameplay, increasing player performance in first person shooters like Call of Duty, fighter games like Mortal Combat, racing games like Grand Tourismo and virtually every other genre of gaming by allowing the gamer more natural
    movements.

    This would also set Microsoft and Xbox further ahead of other console makers with "fixed" analog controllers and standard thumb-stick positions.

  2. Analog Stick Drift

    Since the Xbox One does not support recalibration of the Xbox One controller your stick will keep drifting, this is a hardware and not a software issue. Through friction the sensitive parts inside the stick mechanism shift/move/wear out giving it a false
    reading which makes it drift.

    It has been suggested on the feedback website so if you vote maybe this feature will be added in the future

    If you use it on pc you can just keep using it, you just have to recalibrate the sticks, as this is compensated by the software on your pc this will not carry over to your xbox

    The only solution is to send it off to repair, but it might be better to buy a new one

    I have been playing my Xbox One for a couple of months and went out of my way to purchase a second controller. The only problem is the right analog stick is drifting up something horrible. Is there a way to calibrate the stick? Thanks

    While a good idea in theory, I would worry about 2 things:

    1) fair play and balance - it could potentially give players an unfair advantage over others based upon the settings.

    2) consistency - it would make games consistent across the board, which may actually be a bad thing. For example, a racing game shouldn't control the same as a flight simulator, fighting game character, or a 1st-person shooter.

    Besides, we already have numerous in-game adjustment options for this kind of thing - just use those.

    It would have to be done for each game specifically (GG's 2nd point) rather than an option in the Xbox settings so it would be up to developers.

    It's been done on the PC since the first joystick/flightstick so balance or fairness isn't an issue. Everyone has the ability to configure their settings so if you don't chose to it's your option.

    On the PC it's a necessity because of the variety of controllers you have access to but on the console we don't have options so developers simply give us barebones configuration menus and leave it at that.

    I'm hoping that whatever version of Win 10 they give us on the One will allow us more freedom to chose our control devices. I'd much rather use my 360 or even Logitech controller (both plug and play in Windows) over the One controller. Developers would then
    have a reason to give us more configuration options (button mapping, stick throw, dead zones, etc).

    Or we could take people's mobile phones away from them for a week, watch them develop an attention span and then after spending 15 minutes using the pad they'll probably find themselves adjusting to it.

    I think custom grips for your sticks may help, the XO sticks are pretty small.

    The thumb sticks on the x1 controller are a bit small. I bought KontrolFreeks for it the first week of launch. They definitely improve the sticks dramatically.
