Adaptive controller - replace thumbsticks?

Hi all,

Im having a lot of pain using my thumbs on the thumbsticks (being just old and suffering from arthritis) and was looking at the new adaptive controller. I was wondering if there was any way to replace the left and right thumbsticks with traditional arcade
type joysticks that could be operated using the palms as opposed to the thumbs? I can see that its got a bunch of inputs on the back but nothing for the thumbsticks. Does this mean that they cant be replaced with external controllers?

I bought both a standard mic, as a replacement, and a mic adapter, to use with my Beats 2 headphones. Neither are working (standard mic before and after controller update as a result of the mic adapter) on two separate controllers.

If your Stereo Headset Adapter isn’t functioning well, check the following:

Have you updated your controller’s software to support the Stereo Headset Adapter?

Make sure your controller has fresh batteries. When the batteries get weak, some controller functions like audio and rumble get turned off to conserve the remaining power.

Make sure your headset adapter is firmly plugged into your controller and that your stereo headset’s 3.5-mm cable is securely plugged into the headset adapter. You will know it’s plugged in properly if you press the mute button and the LED lights up.
If the mute light comes on and you have updated your controller but your headset isn’t working, consult the manual or manufacturer.

Try your Stereo Headset Adapter on another controller if you can. If the adapter works on the second controller, try updating the first controller again. If that fails, the controller will need to be replaced. To order a replacement, go to the Xbox Online
Service Center.

For the adaptive controller, you can plug a lot of different things into it like controllers, joysticks. Here is the

adaptive controller FAQ. The adaptive controller can be configure also. As far as the controller you got there are no replacements you can get for the thumbstick, in which you want unfortunately.

You would need to replace the control or have it repaired/replaced by microsoft.

Either your control has stick drift/ghosting where it moves completely by itself or you have damaged the thumbstick sensor, Either way theres no way to reset this, the thumbstick sensor either needs replacing if your control has no warranty or you need to
replace the controller.

I appreciate your help. I followed your instructions to the letter however no option to order replacement Thumbsticks became available. There were options to replace my various consoles but nothing regarding my Elite Controller &/or it's Thumbsticks. I was
able to chat with Microsoft Support however & they were able to sell me a set of replacement thumbsticks for about $20

Each Elite controller series 2 comes with 1 set of paddles. You can order replacement paddles, thumbsticks etc.

Series 1 paddles, thumbsticks is not compatible with series 2.
