    Adaptive Controller Joystick

    Dear XBox technician Management:

I am an disabled adult with use of one arm. Last December I bought the XBOX One Console with the adaptive controller. This newly device is fantastic as i am able to use the standard buttons with foot buttons. With
my left and right stick, I use two standard Microsoft joysticks which do the trick for me. If I have one complaint, it would be over time, the joysticks malfunction with wear and tear. The ones I usually buy are not
that expensive and usually last 6 months. Recently while one of my joysticks was starting to not work right, I had this thought that an upside down tracking mouse would be a better option, as it’s basically an upside down mouse, and I’d just
use it as my joystick. My thought was this kind of technique would probably last longer than a joystick as there’s no stick to yank back and forth. Long story short, I bought an Kingsington Orbit Trackball Mouse and plugged it into
my adaptive controller. But nothing happened. Does this mean only standard joysticks are compatible with the Adaptive Controller? If this is the case, do you know of a sturdy joystick on the market that would be

comparable? The brands I often purchase are the Extreme 3D Pro for Windows and the Thrustmaster USB joystick

    Chad

    Xbox Adaptive Controller set up

I have a new adaptive controller and have the adaptive joystick plugged into the usb on the left side of the adaptive controller, yet the joystick will not control the left thumbstick in any direction. This is my 2nd adaptive controller keyboard and
first joystick ( first thought pads on adaptive controller were touch pads). I’m hoping someone else has had this issue and is an easy fix. I turn the adaptive controller on first, then my regular controller. I’m praying this is not a second return of the
adaptive controller or a first of the joystick.

Xbox One Adaptive Controller and a R-net Compact Joystick

... if I connected the joystick with a serial to USB adapter to the Xbox Adaptive Controller, would it work? If so, what type of adapter would I need?
In order for the Adaptive Controller to recognize an USB joystick, the USB adapter would present itself as a HID-compliant (Human Interface Device) Joystick.

Most USB to Serial adapters however advertise themselves as a serial COM Port, so normal USB to 9-pin converters won't work.

    You could try to
    contact Curtiss Wright
, the maker of the Compact Joystick, if they know of an USB adapter that makes this joystick available as an actual USB Joystick device.

When talking to Curtiss Wright, make absolutely sure that they are aware of the HID Joystick requirement. A serial port USB adapter will not do the trick!

XBox Adaptive Controllor with Logitech 3D Pro Joystick setup

    Hello Cat5ive,

The Logitech 3D Pro Joystick was one of the recommended joysticks for use on the adaptive controller; the joystick works, although the buttons around or on the joystick unit are not currently supported.

Here are a list of Xbox Adaptive Controller accessories that are fully supported.

Check this out, we hope this helps.

    Best wishes!

    Joystick problem

    Hi Elite,

The only way you would be able to use any joystick is through the
    adaptive controller
. If you are not in need of it, then unfortunately there is no joystick that would be compatible with the Xbox as a stand alone.

    Thanks,

    Brad

    Adaptive Xbox controller and joystick

Logitech Extreme Pro 3D Joystick is actually one of the recommended joystick or accessory for the Xbox adaptive controller. However, we can only use the Joystick and not the buttons and thumbstick, for now.
