Adaptive controller accessories - trackball joystick?

Hi, I have a disability where I'm not able to use regular joysticks and the built-in d-pad on the adaptive controller is too hard for me to press. I need something that I don't have to grip with my hand and is also not hard to push around. I imagine something like a trackball would work, but all I can find are things that operate like a mouse, so it would need me to be continuously rolling the ball to create movement, as opposed to how a joystick works where you just keep it in a direction and the movement continues in game.

Can anyone think of a solution that would work for my situation that I can plug into the adaptive controller?

Have had a look around but can't find anything like that, compatible with the XAC. Your best bet is going to be asking somewhere like Able Gamers:

According to the official Xbox adaptive controller FAQ
"Most devices with connection types 3.5mm (such as switches and buttons) and USB 2.0 (such as HID joysticks or HID gamepads) work with the Xbox Adaptive Controller."

In order to replace the joystick with a trackball you need to get an accessory with a USB 2.0 connection

Logitech Extreme Pro 3D Joystick is actually one of the recommended joystick or accessory for the Xbox adaptive controller. However, we can only use the Joystick and not the buttons and thumbstick, for now.

They will not work. Only whitelisted sticks work with the adaptive controller, which includes the logitech 3D pro

15 pin joysticks typically don't even have driver support for current windows, and haven't for a long time

Logitech is the official accessories partner for the adaptive controller and the joystick he mentions is listed as officially compatible on the XAC website. The adaptive controller provides the security chip for approved accessories like the Rock Band adapter before it

My experience dealing with logitech support on the adaptive buttons leads me to believe that no one there really knows anything about the adaptive controller, and they are simply throwing your back to Microsoft because they don’t have answers for you.

I would suggest asking to speak to a supervisor, and possibly arranging an exchange as the joystick may be defective.. Also please try plugging other accessories into the USB ports on the adaptive controller in order to make sure those ports are properly functional
