Actually locking the xbox one

What are the chances they actually do it?

Well they did take down the feature request page, says it all.

And there aint a problem, is asking for a thing that is not possible in xbox one, at least for now, is not possible to "lock" the console. Can make parent restrictions to a specific account not to the console, like unable to buy games or other content,
limit the console access time (for kids), but lock only the console is not available.

The xbox is supposed to be locked.

While the xbox is "locked" you can:

Browse the store

Watch clips

Use up your roomates data bill

View, and change hardware settings

Watch streams

Yes, I have set Parental Controls. Yes, I set playtime to blocked. Yes, I set a guest key. Yes, I disabled new account creation. Yes, it's set to restriced for people not signed in. Yes, they DO NOT have an account on there.

EVERY other console lets you lock it down.

Nintendo Switch let's you use Parental Controls, and set the time to 0, until YOU want to play.

PS4 is even better, it has a simple login screen, and the option to block new user creation. No account, no using my system!

And then... there's the Xbox. Oddly, it had a signin screen on 360, and the Xbox One even has a signin menu in the contemporary design already.

I'm not sure I understand what you are asking for exactly?

The xbox can boot up and sign you in automatically or go to a sign in screen.

Guests can sign in on their profiles.

As you mention there are many settings for control such as parental controls

And theres always the off button if you are leaving it alone

Thanks for the replies. As our Ambassador has stated, if you'd like to provide feedback or ideas for improvement to the Xbox dashboard, it would be best to provide that through the proper site which is the Xbox Idea Hub, which is part of our Xbox Insiders
Reddit page. Sadly, here on the forums, the developers do not read nor comment on ideas that are presented. We no longer use the User Voice site as it was no longer a feasible option, hence the change.
