Actual HDD Space for CoD Console?

hey everyone!

new X1 owner here - picked up the CoD bundle last night! but won't have a chance to set it up until this weekend.

was just curious.......for those of you who have the 1TB console, how much space is actually available to use?

I know that on the 500GB model, you have about 360GB to use.

so, based on that, I'm thinking we should have about 860GB with the 1TB model?

does anyone know for sure?

How have I used 23GB already

Part of it is due to the false advertisement of actual disk space on the HDDs these days.

Shops will advertise a HDD to have 80GB of space when it really has 78GB of storage. It is because they see 1000MB as 1GB when in actual fact 1024MB = 1GB.

friends console same thing so thats 2 for 754gb

 

I wonder why it takes up more space when compared to the standard hdd?

 

The OS on the standard model takes up about 140GB. but for the 1TB model, it takes up about 250GB??

 

think they reserve a percentage of total space

just did the math. 362GB of 500GB is 72.4%. so 27.6% for the OS.

754GB of 1TB is 75.4%. or 24.6% for the OS.

so, roughly about the same. and actually slightly more space available on the 1TB model percentage wise.

 

hey Sir Rastan, just wanted to ask about your CoD console.

does the paint job on the Spartan helmet look "cracked" or "chipped" on your console?

I unboxed mine last night, and I noticed that the paint job on the Spartan helmet wasn't "pristine" but instead looked "cracked" or "chipped" in certain parts ( like the paint is missing pieces in some parts ).

so, I didn't know if that was intentional and part of the paint job design or if my console just had a shoddy paint design.

also, after I got my console setup and updated, before installing anything else, I had 780.8GB of available space.

 

I just got the new 1TB Xbox One and I can verify that total usable storage is 780.8 GB.
