Yes this is a microsoft account, but the problem is that i only made the account to use it to link the call of duty modern warfare and vanguard, so never needed to use it, now that i am trying to get into it i cant because i dont know the password, I have been through the recovery forms but because i havent used the microsoft account to buy anything its hard to get the evidence together to sign in, is there a way that if i cant get in and microsoft cant give me the information can they unlink the account so i can just make another one?

Microsoft is not Activision, and is legally prohibited from having anything to do with their business during this time. Until it is finalized, which won’t be until at least summer 2023 by current estimates, and approved by regulators, they don’t have anything to do with each other by law outside of existing relationships (like releasing games)

In fact even after the purchase, should it go through, you will likely still have to go to Activision support for help with games like call of duty and World of Warcraft, as they have dedicated support teams

No one here has access to anyone’s account, or anything to do with money. For that, you have to open a support ticket at support.xbox.com for Xbox problems.

I cannot access a "microsoft" account. the account is a microsoft account that i need to sign into in order to unlink my account, or change my password.

Its ridiculous that there isnt some sort of route you can take to sort this out as im sure im not the only person who has spent alot of money and time over the 3 games of modern warfare. cold war and vanguard and forgotten account information. It is quite clearly connected to my xbox live account with my billing address on it. microsofts problem is that they have literally no support coverage, literally impossible to speak to someone on the phone about this problem. the virtual chat just tells you to do things that you have already tried so any advice on how to take this further? and speak to the right person?

Ok, have you tried to just select the option "forget my password" and reset it?
