    Intermittent disconnect

    Since you assigned a static IP for the Xbox 360, you can try to activate the router DMZ service to the Xbox 360 IP.

    Activate the DMZ on Xbox is dangerous?

    DMZ on the assigned device opens ALL ports going back and forth to it. A device placed in the router's DMZ does indeed make it the most vulnerable to any kind of intrusion, as you're essentially not putting it behind any kind of firewall anymore.

    What you should do is manually open only the
    necessary ports to connect to Xbox Live    .

    Secondly: Are you referring to the DMZ on your home router/gateway (DMZ host). This is not to be confused with DMZ on an enterprise firewall (e.g ASA/Palo/Sonicwall)
