Achievements system is broken and notifications are inconsistent

Bought the Xbox One S yesterday and am really enjoying the hardware and the backwards compatibility, but unfortunately I'm already detecting fundamental issues with the OS, specifically with achievements and notifications.

I previously had the original Xbox One and noticed in a few games that achievements were not always popping up after I'd unlocked them. I would only find out about them when I got back to the home screen and saw that I had new notifications. The actual notification
messages were enabled so no fault on my end. To make matters worse, when I played Destiny there was an achievement that just straight up didn't unlock even though it was only a bog standard story progression achievement. At this point I became frustrated and
sold the original Xbox One and played Destiny on PS4. The trophy system on PS4 is flawless.

When the Xbox One S was released yesterday I decided to give the OS another chance and set it up with a brand new account. I also used a wired internet connection this time as I had used WiFi previously and thought maybe that was to blame (even though I
have 200Mb fibre optic broadband). I decided to play Destiny again and the first achievement of the game popped up fine, but then when I finished the second level the achievement did not pop. This is the same exact achievement that just straight up did not
unlock the last time around. I went to the home screen and saw 1 notification which was the first one that popped up fine. Then when I went to my profile and checked achievements all of a sudden there's two new ones that didn't pop up in game OR show in the
notifications section.

I've had these issues with other games in the past and have also found that general notifications such as when a game installs can be very inconsistent and don't always pop. What the hell is wrong with the Xbox One OS? How is it still struggling to do fundamental
things nearly 3 years after launch?

Achievements not popping up

Achievements on Xbox One are broken and Microsoft needs to fix it. I agree it's super annoying because I have the same issue. Any achievements I unlock rarely ever pop the notification on screen. I have notifications turned on, signed into Live, hard reset,
all other "solutions" I've read online. Nothing works. I know the achievement unlocks because it shows up instantly in Smartglass or in achievements hub. It's the notification that's broken.

 

Broken Achievements

My achievements are broken. I cannot earn any and they dont ever show up in my notifications anymore. This is something I can't personally do. I tried everything.

having the same issue did you find a fix? The issue is not with unlocking. The issue is with achievement notifications.
