Achievements pop up in the wrong language

First off I called support a few days ago about the issue I have, then I chatted with Xbox Support over the chat function (not the ambassador chat) and my issue is still not resolved

The issue I'm having, my xbox is set to US English/USA but I live in Belgium (I use those settings for having full Kinect functionality as my country appears to not have it) my achievement trigger in English but when I go to my achievement list everything is
set in French, but I don't speak French. Now since the Xbox One released in my country my region is suddenly set to Belgium-French instead of Belgium-Dutch and I have no ability to change this through the migrate region, as I get an error message.But seeing
as I set my xbox to US English I don't get why I get all this French crap.

When I contacted support (over chat) they said they would change my region for me and everything would be alright by sending my issue to Xbox Global Escalation Support. What they actually did was send me an email on how to set my region and language in the
settings of my xbox one, which does not solve the issue at all since it seems to be account related. But I tried it anyway but yeah no surprise, everything is still in French.

When I called support they said it's an IP related issue and that since I live in Belgium they register my appear as French speaking, which is just utter bull.... why would they give me the illusion to change the language to what I want if everything is IP
bound... But anyway my IP is near the Dutch border since I live there so why is everything in French then ? How does Canada do it, they have English and French speaking peoplek, do they have the same issue I have?

This had never really bothered me even though it has been going on for about 7 years now (amount of time I've had my xbox) I used to only receive French emails, but now they want everyone to use their own language it's just messing up completely and anoying
more people than it should help so I hope I might get some good proper help on the forums now unlike support gave me by not solving any of my issues even though it was sent to "Xbox Global Escalation Support"

Achievements show up in the wrong language

Unlike the rest of the app, achievement titles and descriptions ignore the system's language setting and show up depending on your IPs geo-loc. (This only applies to achievements that have localized versions of course. For example Destiny)

Some (or the case of some games all) of my achievements appear in spanish despite all the language settings set to english uk. Can someone please tell me how to fix this?

 

unfortunatly current Region and languages are very limited, you can only Chose what is offered.

Xbox Ideas, powered by UserVoice would be your best Option to request a Change in possible setup

 

But that's the thing, my language is in the settings, but I want my menu in English and use kinect commands, which is why I set it to US English since I have an American accent

My account however seems to be set to Belgium-French, which I never changed it to myself, it's supposed to be Belgium-Dutch which I asked them to change it back to since I couldn't due to the error

contacted support again, got transferred to global escalation support

they gave up gonna get transferred to another department and I've been waiting on an email from them since thursday

 

log into your account at Sign in to your Microsoft account

from the View Basic Info about your account screen, look under where it says Personal Details for the blue "edit" link. click that and make sure your region is what you want it there.

then redownload you profile to your console. I do think it is the IP address issue, but maybe this will help. Good Luck.

It's been a month and called support twice, and twice they've told me the case is still open and flagged as priority, but nothing seems to be happening

 

Also from Belgium.. having the same issue. I had this since the beginning, it never really bothered me because it used to be only the zune store that was french (never bought anything, well played ms). But now it's the achievements and that's really frustrating.
Why can't I just choose my language, like all other consoles let me do?

Try sending them a tweet. They answer pretty quick - great service really - but they have no idea how to solve the problem. Maybe if a few people talk about it, they might fix it. That being said, the problem has been here since the xbox 360 launch.

I had a reply back from global Escalation saying I need to change my language to dutch and region to belgium

*facepalm* in the previous message I stated that method doesn't work

Then Xbox Belgium called me saying that microsoft is contacting the game developers themselves to fix the issue

 

I am sick to the back teeth of this. I do not want my Achievements in French. I live in Belgium and my language preference goes something like English, Flemish, Almost any other language in the world, sign language, then French.

My xbox account is set to UK but for some reason my console achievements are in a language I do not understand, this means knowing what to do to earn them without running 2 computers is not possible.

So what is my motivation to continue chasing achievements in French....Zero.

It happened to me with destiny........I spent an evening with Microsoft to eventually be told it was the developers fault... well I complained to Bungie and.........absolutely nothing.

Yet like a fool I keep coming back to my abusive relationship.

So I accept Bungie must have been in the wrong as MS said so....however when I started ME:SOM the same thing happened...cheevos in French... hmmmmmmm.

Then today CODAW also in French so either ..

1. I was being told a lie by a MS employee which my heart cannot believe or 2. Bungie have leaked damaged code to all other developers.

So now I have 3 games showing it is not the developers MS how about you decide to fix this issue?

How about an option to choose Achievement language?

Better still how about having my account language be used to determine the achievement language.

Now the other day Microsoft contacted me again saying they will need access to my account etc... won't be able to use it for a day or so while they are trying to fix the issue.

First email received sep12 last so far nov8 so progress is being made and I have faith it will be resolved for me and afterwards even for more people. Gonna ask for a possibility to ask the higher ups to enroll the fixed solution to more people as I know
a lot of Belgians and Canadians have this issue (as they are bilingual) and now seeing that V Rage also has the issue while he's from the UK I have no clue what's going on anymore

But it's not only the game dev who's at fault apparently, since also Xbox Video is in French with me
