  1. Achievements One of the reasons I chose the ONE!

I was in a party with a couple of my friends the other day and we had a discussion which I though was interesting. We talked about some of the reasons why we chose to upgrade from the Xbox 360 to the Xbox One. A thing we all agreed on was the achievement
system that the Xbox brand has. All of us agreed that we loved getting achievements from games and when playing games from old consoles whether it be a playing Zelda on an N64 emulator or Pokemon on an old game boy, there was something missing. A sense
    of playing and being rewarded.

The games just didn't feel the same, as going back to them I felt I was playing for nothing. Having owned a PS3 and them adopting the trophy system I did not think it felt anywhere near as good the Xbox achievement system and my friends agreed.
I think it is a big part of the Xbox brand and was very happy they are improving the system on the One. What are you thoughts on the achievement system? Was it one of the reasons you chose to buy an Xbox One over competitors? Do you
like completing games and having something to show for it?

    :)

Nice, I'm loving the axes and Fulgores achievements look beast! Especially Fulgore Chosen One.

    Scalebound

Scalebound was one of the major reason why I chose to buy an Xbox over a Playstation. I'm definitely annoyed at this one. There really aren't a lot of good dragon games out there. Scalebound showed a looked promising.

I love working for achievements. ITs odd, many people completely ignore these things, but these are what give me my drive to want to complete games (100%, etc.) I have always really liked the reward system that is the achievements system. I also feel that
it gives you a good historical background on what the player likes to play, not just games but what tasks do they complete in games. I love achievements!

  6. I agree some of the more difficult achievements have a background on the games I like and some of them even have story too. The ultimate defender achievement is one of those for GRAW 2 it took me months to get it.

Louie judging by your low gamer score I would have guessed you like achievements haha.

  7. The achievements are laid out so poorly its unreal. I hardly check them anymore as its too much of a pain. If we could snap achievements it would be good.

I don't pay attention to achievements at all. If I get one, I'm like okay that's nice...well back to the game.

  9. I used to love achievements but I don't get the same feel for them on Xbox One as I did on Xbox 360. They seem slower and less rewarding if that makes sense. Also, as UnchargedTerror has stated, the layout is so poor.

  10. @ UnchargedTerror,

I agree - snapping achievements as you unlock them would be awesome to see.

I half agree with Uncharged's post. While, checking achievements (especially mid-game) is now a royal pain in the butt, the achievement trackers for most games are perfect. Gone are those days where you needed to kill X amount of enemies with Y gun and
you had no idea how many you've done. Now, you can just check the achievement tile and it will give you an indication.

The 360's achievements was one of the major reasons my PS3 was relegated to Blu-ray and JRPG duty but as far as the One improving them I'd have to agree with several others here that they have done exactly the opposite.

The OP may want to have the "who does it better" discussion with his friends again for this gen because Sony is winning hands down. I can check my trophies for all their platforms on any platform (which includes the Vita) and I can check them on my PC without
having to go to a third party site, downloading an app or using a specific OS.

Checking them on either console is still more involved than the way the 360 handled it which is what I'd like to see brought back ( simple pop up window ).

  13. Achievements One of the reasons I chose the ONE!

@Randver I never had a discussion with my friends regarding who does it better. The discussion was since we got the xbox 360 we loved the idea of achievements and it was one of the reasons we chose to upgrade to the Xbox One. We also agreed that going back
to playing older games that we loved did not feel the same when there wasnt anything to play for. I stated that I felt the Xbox achievement system was better than the one that the PS3 adopted. Which I think it is.

I agree with everyone when they said the 360 has a better system. I don't like the idea of going out of the game to check what achievement I have gotten. When I was talking about improvements I meant the fact that you can record the moments and that games
can come with many more achievements now. Plus I like the idea of special achievements that can be obtained in a limited time period.
