Achievements disappeared and cannot be re-earned.

Firstly, sorry if this is in the wrong place. Spent the last 5 hours being messed about by the customer service chat people - seriously, they are just the worst customer service I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with for so many reasons. Anyway,
5 hours later, they told me this is the place to post this.

So from the top:

I noticed when at a friend's house that when they looked on my profile, my Assassin's Creed I & Fallout 3 achievements were not the same as on my console. Assassin's Creed I has to achievements missing that on my console were unlocked on 30-12-2015 and on Fallout
3 there were 7 missing (the achievements for Mothership Zeta & broken Steel DLCs) these were unlocked on 6-1-2016 & 7-1-2016. I also noticed the Xbox windows 10 app was showing the same as my friend's console, so I checked on Xbox.com too and it also showed
the same achievements missing.

So I contacted customer service about this today. I won't go into all of the trouble I've had with customer service here and will be as succinct as possible. They told me to delete my profile (profile only), do a hard restart of my console and download my profile.
I did this, but now my console was showing the aforementioned 9 achievements as missing. I put the Assassin's Creed I disc in, loaded it and the 2 achievements unlocked and appear to have saved after checking xbox.com. So now this game is 100% again.

Unfortunately the same cannot be said about Fallout 3. I did the same and the 7 achievements have not unlocked. the 7 Achievements are 6 quest ones that I cannot re do as the quests are completed. the other is to collect 25 items, which again I cannot re do.
I can however prove I should have these achievements by taking photos of my Fallout 3 quests menu showing the 6 quests are marked as complete and thus I should have the 6 achievements. I can also take a photo showing all 25 items for the final achievement.
I will attach them to this message.

So at the end of the 5 hours of hell with customer service, I was told to post here in order to get my achievements back, so my Fallout 3 can go back to being 100%. of course I understand you can't just go about giving achievements to people who claim to have
done something, so that's why I have sent the photos to prove I have earned the achievements, but they have not unlocked and I cannot re do the process to get said achievements, so the only way to get the achievements I have earned is to be given them by you,
which customer service said you could do if I post here with proof.

Deletion of 'Tomb Raider' Achievement(s)

Sorry, once earned an achievement cannot be removed unless you've been caught cheating in which case all achievements to date would be removed and cannot be re-earned on that account.

 

Account Got Hacked; Gamerscore Reset

Hi, unfortunately when your Gamerscore is reset, all previously earned achievements are locked and cannot be re-earned.

Firstly, I want to state that no-one has the ability to manually grant you achievements and this was misinformation on the part of the support agent you spoke with, so there isn't anyone here who will be able to do this for you.

Onto the issue at hand, it sounds like when you deleted and redownloaded your profile then re-opened Assassin's Creed that was enough for the game to be triggered into comparing your in-game stats with achievements and realise that it owed you a couple,
so those unlocked.

Now it seems that Fallout 3 has not - and will not - do the same thing, so the only way to unlock these achievements will be to actually re-earn them. And I realise that this could be an incredible grind depending on the achievement requirements but it's
also the only alternative, unfortunately. I know you say you cannot do this on your current playthrough, so you may want to start a save file on a different storage device to create a playthrough solely for unlocking these achievements.

The only solution is to play - literally - the entire game all over again?

So Xbox customer service make me do something I don't want to do as I was afraid of losing achievements, they promise me that I won't, so I do what they told me to do. I lose achievements. They don't apologise, just try and say they never told me to do that
and when I quote them telling me to and promising I wouldn't lose achievements, they just end the conversation. I contact a different person who tells me that if I post here I can get them back as the people here have the power to take away unfairly earned
achievements & give achievements that have been fairly earned but not unlocked and that's wrong too.

My experience with xbox customer service is nothing but being ignored, being lied to and causing me to lose achievements and the only solution is to play the entire game all over again from the start? To get what I already had and already should have? But
I don't because of the actions of Xbox customer service who are refusing to take responsibility for it? or even admit they told me to do it and told me I'd not lose achievements? And their solution wasn't true either? Just unbelievable!

I'm not here to make excuses for anyone, but the suggestions they made (delete and redownload profile) did work for Assassin's Creed and got you those achievements back. I would have suggested the same.

Glitched achievements are one of those infuriating things that don't have a good "fix" and results vary by game. Redownloading a profile is one of the steps that has a chance of working - and it did for Assassin's Creed - but won't always solve the issue.

The bit that doesn't sit well with me is telling you that there exists a person who can credit you with achievements which simply isn't true, and I'm sorry you were told that, but everything else you were told seems to have been accurate (again, the steps
worked for one of the two games). I'm now here trying to show you the only way that you can get these achievements to show up on your profile.

As for the Fallout achievements that glitched on you, it seems you're far from the only one:

As the other users discussed there, re-playing the mission is the only way to get the achievements to pop. If you happened to make a save before the place where the achievements should have unlocked, you can go back and start from there, and that will make
all this easier. If you do not have a convenient save, then, as those other players on TrueAchievements stated, you will unfortunately have to play through a significant part of the game again, if not all of it.

I'm sorry this isn't the easy solve you were hoping for - there simply isn't one - but I hope this information helps.
