Achievements appearing in Japanese.

So, after creating a Live account a few days ago I noticed that my Achievement list for Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey now appears in Japanese. It is more of an issue for Lost Odyssey since the description of said Achievements also are in Japanese. I have
looked around for a solution but I can't find one. I have tried to change the language of the console without luck. Both the console and the games are PAL versions.

Any insight on how to resolve this would be highly appreciated.

Same situation.. FH2 was the first game with Japanese.. Now halo MCC... Other games are in English though?

I'm stationed in Japan as well. Picked up FH2 yesterday from the exchange and am having the same problem.

 

Hey there, ViperishTooth94! It looks like you're unlocking these achievements while offline. If you connect your Xbox 360 to the internet, are they still showing in Japanese? When you check your achievements
here, are they showing up as in Japanese on the website, too? Let me know! We want to nail down what is happening here for you.

 

Yes, I unlocked them offline, it was before I had my Live account. The achievements show up in Japanese regardless of whether I'm connected to the Internet or not. Yes, they are in Japanese for me on here too.

Also, if I create a new profile and play the games the Achievements appear in English as they should, so it seems that it is only this profile that has issues.

No, never. Swedish and English are the only two languages I have used.

 

Sorry for double-posting now, I'm not sure how or even if I can edit my posts. I have never messed with the regions whatsoever. It has been set to Sweden ever since I got it.

 

No worries about the double post! The time to edit a post is incredibly short, so we understand when users sometimes double post.

Using the PAL version shouldn't cause this as that's standard where you are. Additionally, I can see your achievements in English when I view them on the website set to US (where I am located). When I switch to Sweden as my locale here on the site, I still
see them in English.

I am currently thinking that this might be an account issue, since I'm seeing it in English on my end, as I should. I suggest reaching out to
phone support in your country to see if they can find anything that might be wrong with your account. If they are unable to, please let me know so that I can dig into it a bit deeper.

If they are unable to help you, make sure you get a reference number. You don't have to tell me it when you post back, but make sure you have one just in case I do need it.

 

Thank you for all your help. I've spoken to three support representatives today, none of them have been able to help me much, but at least I've established an email conversation with one of them. She probably won't reply to me today, so unfortunately I can't
offer you any additional information about the issue as of now. I will let you know more as soon as she replies to my mail again however.

The little help I did get today only amounted to me being completely unable to send emails from this account and making the text that was previously English in my Achievements on Blue Dragon become Japanese. It's funny how technology works. Let's hope tomorrow
brings some good news. :3

 

Tooth; something you could try to do is to redownload your profile. In the past, I had earned some achievements that showed up in a different language. After setting my language and locale to my proper region again, I downloaded my profile and it updated
those achievements to English.

 

Thank you very much for the suggestion Balverine, however that was one of the things the support staff made me do yesterday and it caused text previously in English become Japanese. So if anything redownloading my profile only magnified my problem. XD

Sorry if I sounded harsh, I really am extremely grateful for your help and I wish that it was as simple for me as it was for you to fix this.

The games that you are playing. The discs that you are using should be for PAL. Can you check on the back of the game cases for me to find the phrase that determines what format the game is? It should state something about "designation" for the game. I just
want to confirm with you that they are indeed the PAL version before I start asking others what is going on.

 

My sincere apologies for the extremely late reply and for reviving this thread. I didn't get any response from the Swedish support staff and then I became rather busy. However, I did contact them again today and they are looking into it.

I'm not sure how much access that gives you, but if you can read the mails I've sent to the customer service there should be a few pictures of how the Achievements show up for me. If you can't access them through the number, but still wish to see them I
