Its to allow for achievements to be obtainable offline. If it gets enough vote Xbox may do it like the battery notification thing. There's also a few other nice things to vote for on there too like Backwards Compatibility.

Achievement Problem

Achievement for 50 games played popped and achievement for 10 games played didn't pop. Update please.

In all honesty, the dashboard update released Late Friday/early Sat fixed the real-time achievement unlocking problem, but you are right, as it will do nothing for the ones that are sitting at 100%, and those that have been for months. The big issue is
that all those from the past, stuck at 100% wont be fixed by this procedure. Those above steps are really redundant due to the xbox live problem of achievement verification. I am soooo glad you called out all the ambassadors giving out false information.
I know it may be tricky to do the ambassador stuff, but they really are part of the problem of misinformation, and they have to take the good with the bad. People are going to realize soon they have a ton of stuck achievements that need to be re-completed
in order for them to pop, since xbox live didn't put them in its verification database. Some will be impossible to redo. There is one solution, and they could create and release an app, that we could run that would force XBOX Live to verify achievements.
Their system is not able to handle it on its own, so I am willing to bet, it is just dumping them as an excess workload in the system as a non-critical function until another cycle comes... which it will repeat. You have a very small chance at getting an
achievement to verify after the fact it was earned during a time Live was down. This is why people are waiting 3 to 4 months and saying that one just randomly popped. Until Microsoft makes an app that forces an achievement verification that we can use, this
problem is going to persist or get worse. It all boils down to online verification ( which I agree with ), probably due to an anti-cheating measure as hex editing was being done for the 360 achievements.

 

Yea there's still some achievements that don't unlock from that procedure but there's a few that also unlock from it too... Like I still have recieved the achievement for upgrading everything in Strike Suit Zero but it unlocked about 7 others for me

 

Hi McQueen101, tried the steps that the Xbox support person gave you and it successfully unlocked one achievement for me that wasn't popping before (woo...), but the other it didn't work for. It's so infuriating isn't it!!! I daren't play any of my other
games in case I 'break' some of the achievements...

 

LOL yea I'm missing 1 ach from Strike Suit Zero and even after using that it wont unlock... Oh well I guess...

 

well ive been able to unlock new achievements. but the 3 ac4 story mission achievements im missing still havent unlocked. hopefully when I beat the next story sequence they will pop.

 

I should say achievements for other games have unlocked havent tried anything else for ac4 yet.

Hopefully it fixes achievements from weeks and months ago too and not just from the recent Live outage. I've been sitting on a locked perk achievement in Wolfenstein that should have unlocked two weeks ago.

 

@Mister Quimby It's been over 4 days now, 2 since it was reported fixed... Any progress when we'll start to see our achievements or have I blown over $1500 on the wrong console? Achievements may not be a big thing to some people and they may not constitute
getting all mad like a few of us are BUT achievements are a part of what made the Xbox.

 

I've been having this issue and getting totally fed up with the XBOX One in general, on the grand scheme of things it's awesome, but small niggles everytime I play. The 2 latest ones:

I have a phantom message!! It says I have 1 new message, but nothings there, when I select messages, it says you have no messages, but the 1 new message remains. Also achievements are not unlocking, I'm a completionist, so this is a deal breaker for me,
as petty as it sounds, if this issue carries on with achievements not unlocking, I'll probably just sell up and buy a PS4. Why achievements can't work like the amazing XBOX 360 is beyond me, this new method is garbage, and takes away the fun.
