Accounts - Verification Needed

I need some verification please on the below scenario.

I have recently connected my xbox to the internet.

- On my xbox I have an offline account (call it original_account) - not tied to an email address.

- Online, I signed up for xbox live (call it new_account) - tied to my PROPER address.

On my xbox, I now have two accounts (original_account) and (new_account)...

However, what I wanted to do was to make my original_account (the offline one) into the online xbox live one. But instead, I have an empty (new_account) that is connected and still an offline account.

So, reading through help article I did the following:

1) I created a new dummy address and moved the empty new_account to the DUMMY email.

2) I then went to assign (through the xbox 360 interface) my offline original_account to my PROPER email (it was now disconnected from my other account).

However, at step 2, it says that my PROPER email is still assigned to an account (but it's not because I've just moved it to DUMMY email).

Am I correct in my approach and do I now need to wait 30 days before I can try step 2 again?

Hey mate, I believe you might have to wait the 30 days before you can use that email as per this link:

support.xbox.com/.../switch-gamertag-to-different-microsoft-account

Also just sopmething to note, that when you make your local profile (no email address) into an online or silver account, what you need to do is sign-in to the local account with the internet connect to the xbox and you should see the option to upgrade to
silver or 'Join Xbox Live' and go through the steps to add an email etc. and it should be all good, hope this helps.
