Account was recently hacked. Is this email a scam?

My main account was recently breached and the email and phone number were changed on the account. They didn't change the password for some reason but I've talked to an online person twice now on https://occclientglobal.iconchannelserviceprod.microsoft.com. Got to that from the Microsoft website so I was pretty sure it was legit

I've received an email from *** Die E-Mail-Adresse wurde aus Datenschutzgründen entfernt. *** (if it censors the email, it's coming from a cdoccm.microsoft email) asking info to verify my identity to the account. Everything seemed normal. From the look of things, CDOC is something that is tied to Microsoft but I'm aware that wouldn't stop someone from impersonating the company. They asked for alternate emails and when/where the account was created, previous gamertags, etc. Things seemed a little fishy when they asked for my IP but then got even more fishy when they asked for my card billing name, last 4 on the card, and the EXP date. They're also asking for Xbox console ID/serial numbers which idk if that can be used against me.

I really want this to be a real email because I've had this account for the longest time and would hate to have it be lost forever. If anyone has gone through a similar experience and actually gotten helped via the email I would appreciate some verification on the authenticity of it

    :)

is it possible to be hacked?

If you still have access to your account then you were not hacked. Someone in your house or even you probably changed the clan tag without you knowing. :)

    -

Also, it is VERY unlikely you will ever get hacked. Most people on Xbox lose their accounts not from hacking, but they lose control of their accounts for calling for fishing scams (MSP generators for example) or they gave out their email and have very easy
    to guess passwords.

    -

Just don't fall for scam messages and never give out your email and password and you'll never be 'hacked'

Oh great, my account got Fifa hacked

    @Private Maximo

There's something bigger going on with the recent rash of XBL hacks. I'm a freelance writer (mostly covering tech and gaming) and I come from a background in IT. I know how to make a secure password, I know how to avoid phishing scams, and I keep different
passwords for my various accounts. I was hacked, and the hacker used my account to buy in game currency for FIFA, which (presumably) was then used to purchase in game content that was traded back to their original account.

In other words, don't blame the victim for getting hacked - it's not necessarily their fault. I took every possible precaution, and was still a victim of this recent rash of hacking.

Microsoft account unusual sign-in activity = Deleting Hotmail

This is a scam that originated in 2019. I, too, have been constantly changing my password -- thankfully, I looked up "why I keep getting this unusual sign-in activity" today -- and found it is a scam. I have changed my password again! But this time I changed it legitimately on the Microsoft Site -- not the link provided by the "authentic" email. I hope it provides enough protection, as any of the other passwords might afford someone to hack the other information attached to that account!

Account Hacked - Do I talk to Paypal?

Your account can not be 'hacked', there are many ways to lose access either via phishing scams, social engineering or a virus or key logger on your PC. Hacked isn't possible though.

If your still in control of your account, be sure you have changed the password.
DO NOT give this password to anyone and make sure it is strong enough that one can guess it.

Don't use the same email and password you use on Xbox Live on other websites.

    Check your computer for viruses.

Do not fall for 'Free Points' scams.

You can call Microsoft, but there investigation will lock your account down for up to 45 business days. You will not be able to play on Xbox Live with this account until the investigation is concluded.
