    Account Swap(WLID change)

    Hi Folks,

This week I've decided to change the e-mail of my xbox live gamertag, no big deal, something I did years ago on a different account. I went to my xbox console and on account, filled all the necessary fields, but then I got an error saying I could not
change my microsoft account "right now". Ok, I went to the interwebs to search for a solution for this issue. Usually is because one has already changed the e-mail in less than 30 days or downloaded the profile in my xbox in less than 30 days. I did neither
of those, and yet the error persists. Spoke with the online support, but they could not help me. Is there something someone here can do to help me?

    :)

    gamertag to new wlid

You can swap it to another registered WLID through account management on your console. If the current WLID is not a hotmail or live.com email, you can change it at account.live.com to another existing email service (yahoo, gmail, ect) or into a hotmail/live.

  3. Changing the primary Windows Live ID associated with my XBOX Live subscription

Hey there, changing your Windows Live ID (WLID) is a tricky process but first you'll need to make sure that your sons WLID is not attached anyone's account because you'll have to swap things around. You'll need to sign into your son's account (on the Xbox)
and then via the Dashboard, got to Account Management and change the WLID to your son's. The you'll need to sign in to your account (the parent/controlling account) and then change that accounts WLID with your (the controlling) WLID. You may need to change
the age on your sons account to an age of 18 temporarily in order for the family pack to have an 'adult' account register. To change the age of your account, you'll need to sign into the account via Hotmail and change the settings there. I hope you found this
helpful, and do ask if you need further help! Account Swap(WLID change) :)

    Account Swap(WLID change)

Beyond just changing the email in the past 30 days, the new email you want to use has to be at least 30 days old. Is that the case here or is it a completely new email address?

I come forth again to you all with my problem still unsolved. You can see that 1 month has passed and after dozens of calls and online talks I am in the same place I was last month. So could someone please, direct me to some solution? I don't think this
is a complicated problem. Thanks in advance.

  7. Please also note that re-downloading a profile within the timeframe of the two requirements:

    * 30 days in within the past 30 days

    * New e-mail address must be 30 days of age

You must not re-download your profile at all. Re-downloading your profile will reset the counter in the first aspect. And you will have to wait 30 days again from scratch. That's the problem when you had that month past but re-downloading within the timeframe.
It's a secrutiy measure, I'm sorry that it wasn't mentioned to you prior to this. But that is most likely the reason you cannot swap your Microsoft Accounts round.

Always make sure that when you are thinking of doing this, you do not re-download your profile within this timeframe. If you believe this is incorrect you may go ahead and speak to the Microsoft Xbox Support on chat

    support.xbox.com/contact-us

They may be able to have this escalated to higher support for an exception. But I cannot say for certain as this process is in place for the purpose of security measure.

I hope you get your problem sorted soon

    Regards,

    Daniel

Are you certain the profile has not been re-downloaded from the time you downloaded it to the console, to the time the 30 days ended? If you feel this information is incorrect you must get back to Microsoft Xbox Support

    support.xbox.com/contact-us

And have them escalate the issue to higher support, they will be able to check all the times it has been re-downloaded and when. They may also check what other consoles have downloaded the profile which could also reset the counter to be able to swap the
    Microsoft Accounts round.

    Daniel

    Hi there,

be aware that if there is still currency on the account, this may prevent you from moving the account to a different Microsoft Account.

If it's just the primairy email address you want to change you can also try the steps mentioned here:

    support.xbox.com/.../change-email-sign-in-for-microsoft-account

This won't move the xbox live account to a different Microsoft Account, but will only change the primairy email address used for the xbox live account (and Microsoft Account)

  10. Funds are associated with the Microsoft account, switching your e-mail address through the Xbox 360 console through steps on the guidelines state that funds will not move over to the new account. For that reason I strongly doubt that's the prevention. I
still would say the account may have been recovered within the 30 day period or recovered on a friends console to play on, being an Ambassador you should know that'll reset the counter for the 30 days. The alias solution is a good solution regardless.

MightyTitan - Please NOTE: You will be able to sign in to both accounts should you choose the route WPAK suggested, and you will have to mark it as the primary. Please be cautious when deleting any old aliases because you will not be able to receieve E-mail
messages to your former alias should it be deleted.

If both aliases remain you should be able to use *** Die E-Mail-Adresse wurde aus Datenschutzgründen entfernt. *** and *** Die E-Mail-Adresse wurde aus Datenschutzgründen entfernt. *** using the same password.

    Regards,

    Daniel

Criosphinx - I re-downloaded my account in 20 august, when my last post was posted (thinking there was maybe some corruption on my console profile preventing me to do the change), so that's 35 days ago, and my "new" e-mail is from march, as stated in my
    earlier post.

WPAK - I have 0.05 USD in my account, but as Criosphinx and Microsoft said the money won't be transferred but that don't prevent the change.

looking at MS' site, I found this.

Conditions that must be met before you can move your Xbox Live profile

    Current Microsoft account:

1- The current Microsoft account can have an Xbox Live or Xbox Music subscription associated with it, but no other subscription (such as Office 365). Sign in at commerce.microsoft.com to see if this is the case.

2- The current Microsoft account has only one billing account associated with it. If you have ever made purchases in more than one country, have subscriptions such as Office 365, or have bought an app through the Windows Store, you may have more than
one billing account. Go to commerce.microsoft.com to find out.

3- Funds remaining on the current Microsoft account will not move with your gamertag. You can spend the funds and take the related content with you, or you can choose to abandon the funds if the balance is less than $50.00 (or the equivalent in local currency).

4- The gamertag has not been moved within the last 30 days. This includes new gamertags downloaded from Xbox Live. If you try to move a gamertag before 30 days have passed since the last time you moved it, you’ll get the error “Sorry, we can't change
    your Microsoft account right now.”

    Target Microsoft account:

1 - The target Microsoft account cannot already have an Xbox Live profile or gamertag associated with it. To find out, sign in the top of any Xbox.com page (such as this one). If the screen says “To continue, create an Xbox profile,” the account does not
    have a gamertag.

2 - The target Microsoft account cannot have a billing account or non-Xbox subscription associated with it. (Examples include Office 365, OneDrive paid storage, and past purchases at the Windows Store.

I think I'm good on target account. But the 2nd item on the "current account" may be the problem, since 2 "billings" appear, even tho I only bought stuff in US, but a BR(Brazil) billing account appears as well (I am in Brazil right now), but I've never bought
anything here. Is there some way to remove this BR billing account from my profile?

    Account Swap(WLID change)

    @MightyTitan

You may want to contact Xbox Support to see if they are able to remove one of those billing accounts (the BR) one, since as far as I know you can not do it yourself.

Regarding the funds on the account, I know it could prevent moving accounts in the past, MS could have fixed this of course.

Have you tried the steps of changing the primairy email address like I mentioned in my earlier response?

  14. Sometimes people will not try steps of changing their primary aliasaddress when it isn't the solution they intially asked for. And maybe they did prevent it in the past, I clearly don't see that still being a prevention to this day. Which is why it warns
you on the steps in switching that the funds won't go with that Microsoft Account, as it is not something that moves with it. Sometimes brushing up on the updated support guidelines can go quite a distance.

Keep us updated on how you get on MightyTitan! Sorry that it has been an on-going problem for you.

    Regards,

    Daniel

  15. It is correct however what WPAK mentioned, billing isues can only be handled by the Billing Team, and they'll get you sorted out as quick as anything (or they try to)

    http://support.xbox.com/contact-us

Glad you think you have the answer, sometimes I have been in your situation too, having to work things out for myself, good on you!

Hope it now gets resolved soon so you can switch and get back to gaming!

    Regards,

    Daniel
