Account suspended?

I go to log into my account today and it tells me my account has been suspended and I must fix it online. so I do so and really the only thing I had to do was for them to send me text to unblock it? I'm confused as to why this happened, I have no real suspensions
and my standing is perfect with rep or w/e. is this just a way for them to make me add my phone number to my account? I mean I cant even send messages in games on xbox because I never linked my phone number(I'm assuming, I had read this was a reason why people
couldn't send messages on live).

the only other thing I could think of is that late last night/early this morning I did blow a decent amount of money on some games. I have seen other accounts on other gaming platforms get a temp suspension because I guess it looks like suspicious activity(and
I got a email asking if this was me with links to prove it was). but still why not just send me a email or something. I have never had an account for anything get hacked or taken over, so I'm just wondering if this was just a way to get my number lol. either
way that fixed the issue so I guess it wasn't a real suspension. but I would have liked a better reason as to why I had to go through all this, I literally got no emails or anything telling me anything.

Guys, I've not bothered to search as I wouldn't even know quite where to start, so apologies if this is common knowledge already.

My question is............

I've already signed over my XBL account to the ONE, which works fine, but what I'm wondering is how do I get the kids and misses across from the 360 ?
I'm the only one with a live account and the 3 other profiles where made on the 360.
Whilst I was out MTB'ing today the "kids" wanted to play Zoo Tycoon, but since I have to ONE set up for face sign in they had a few problems, to the point where on my arrival home there were about 6 new accounts made in their attempts to sign in *Facepalm :facepalm:
It's been so long since the other accounts were made on the 360 I can't even remember what processes were required.

Sounds like it may be a billing suspension. Check account.microsoft.com to see if you see anything weird looking on there with your purchase history. Then contact billing support at support.xbox.com/contact-us
