Account "stuck" in France - can't migrate

Hi,

For some reason, my xbox live account is double, or split - part in france, part in switzerland (where I live). And for some reason, the xbox 360 console will only take into account the France part.

This means all prices are displayed in Euro and billing info for payment instruments is for France.

I have tried pretty much everything. Changing location to switzerland on xbox.com and on microsoft.com. I have tried migrating the account to Switzerland. I just get an unspecified error message. I'm not sure this would work anyway since the account is already
partly in Switzerland. The console locale is set to Switzerland since forever. I can't count the number of times I deleted the account from the console and re-downloaded it. I'm fairly sure I've tried factory resetting the device. The console just refuses
to let me have a swiss account.

I was still able to buy and access content, until today - instead of leaving good enough alone, I decided to solve the problem. I went on commerce.microsoft.com, deleted payment instruments with erroneous french billing info and added them again with correct
swiss info. Trying to purchase I game, I got a 80150017 error.

I got in touch with xbox support, who said there's nothing to be done and I should just change my region. Thanks a bunch.

I would really like to be able to keep using this account. I want to a) make the account purely swiss i.e. delete the french part or b) make the console take the swiss account instead of the french or c) be able to migrate my account to Switzerland

Changing country

Hi,

I bought my xbox when i was in Ireland and I'm now living in France. How can I migrate my account to France ? In the migrate page, France is not a country to migrate in...

Can you sort me out ?

Sorry to hear it. The code is a region issue (some content cannot be downloaded to regions they were not intended for).

You will need to change the region of your account to Switzerland though.

support.xbox.com/.../change-region

Please pay attention to the list of things that could prevent a region change to see if any apply to you. If nothing does then you'll need to contact phone support again for further assistance. If they say they cannot help then request to have the issue
escalated.

As already mentioned, there is no way to combine the two currencies and migrating your account region won't fix that either. You also should not migrate your account region to France if you are not physically located in France as that can cause issues making purchases.

There is a spam filter on these forums that only allows you to post a certain amount of times within an hour. That is why you're getting an error message.

Did you get it from the same region as your account ?

For example France France not France German?

Yes it matters as xbox regions are be country

You can check which region they are in at account.microsoft.com

Now to use them you would to migrate to their region but with xbox 360 regions your account region MUST match your physical region so choosing q region you don't live in doesn't work and using the region migration tool isn't recommended for regions you don't live in

Hi you may be able to play online games and communicate with friends etc however due to content license issues you most likely wont be able to download content in france while your account is set to the uk also there is region lock so you will also have
trouble redeeming microsoft point codes.

I don't think you can migrate your account still.

You would need to create a new account with the region set to france if you wish to have no restrictions on your gaming and entertainment whilst in france.

If someone corrects me about the account migration thing then ok thanks i'm not 100% sure weather you can migrate or not last time i checked you couldn't..

It may be on different currency but since it's on different region, it will be separated. No worries, your 150€ will stay on your account until you migrate to France and use it.

I live in France. I was living in France when I bought the Xbox, though I made my Microsoft account in America. I migrated my account and it still isn't working. I tried redeeming my code on the computer again and it still says it's redeeming the code
for the US.
