Account Sharing considered Legal or Illegal under Microsoft Terms?

I've read over the ToU and the CoC and am having trouble convincing someone that the activity they are performing is potentionally illegal.

The user in question is attempting to download other players profiles to unlock bonuses and benefits to their accounts. This falls under account sharing and is not legal correct?

You can purchase pre-paid codes/cards from online retailers. Just be sure they are legitimate. Before you purchase you may consider doing a Google/Bing search to see if there are any complaints about them.

Straight from part G of the code of conduct - Do not lend, transfer, sell, or otherwise provide access to your account.

 

Also, depending on how they are trying to get the extra stuff and what they are getting, it could be considered marketplace theft.

 

The individual in question is offer a service to random people to create or share their Xbox Live accounts so that he can download them and unlock the Returning Players reward for their accounts for GTA V.

 

Yeah, the service cannot be used for commercial purposes either, so he's breaking more rules doing that as well.

I would also like to add that if you've received a message on Live about this you should use the dashboard reporting tools to report the individual in question. Go to their bio and select File Complaint then follow the instructions provided.
