The code you speak of, where are you being prompted to enter this on?

Is this on a console or on a Windows 10 device?

If you can provide this info, we should be able to effectively provide troubleshooting techniques to resolve this.

If the account you have is a child account, you will not be able to change any settings yourself. Only an adult account linked to the child account will be able to change these settings.

Hey there! I’m not 100 sure what the problem you’re describing is, but if you’re having problems changing your family account settings because you’ve forgotten the password associated with your Xbox Live account you can reset it here : account.live.com/acsr

You'll need to get your parent or guardian to tell you the code to authorise the screen time extension. They may have changed it because you're on the xbox for too long. If they can't remember the code they should be able to change it after confirming
their xbox account and username.
