Account recovery to get my old gamertag back

A long time ago I made an account at a friends house with the gamertag ZTBowza. I would like to obtain the account back but I can not remember the email that was linked to it because I was 10 years old when I made it. I use this gamertag for all
other gaming platforms and would like to have it for Xbox as well, and to not have this silly x in front of my name. Is there anyway to recover it without knowing the email? Thanks.

the only thing you can try are the steps mentioned on the Lost Account support page:

it will have several ways to try and recover the email address.

In some cases contacting Xbox Support is needed, if you have any information for used payment options on that account etc. that might be useful. When you indeed have to contact Xbox Support be sure to use the Phone (or Chat) options available.

Side note: Gamertags are receiving some new features, which will allow Gamertags to be used more often (but will receive a unique number suffix). For more information on that see:

If it has been inactive for quite a while, you may not have access to it any longer as it would have been recycled. You can always try and sign up again using that tag and see if that works of account recovery doesn't. You may just be able to claim it
again.

Sea of Thieves in Alpha, and it would be linked to your account not the specific name of the gamertag. Did you change your e-mail too?

If the system says the gamertag is not available, then the gamertag is not available. I'm afraid your only options are sticking with your new tag or choosing a different one.
