Account Recovery (No Gold Subscription)

Hello I had a question that really puzzled me and I couldn't really find a definite answer anywhere. My brother has an account on my Xbox that shares Gold benefits on my Home Xbox. My question is if something were to happen to my Xbox like I loose it or
maybe he needs to sign into another Xbox at a friends house or if he were to get his own, would he be able to keep all his progress and recover his account on a different one or would he have to start from scratch since he doesn't explicitly have Gold on his
account?

Xbox Gold

My Xbox one console isn't recognizing my Gold membership. I renewed my Gold subscription in February 2018. I didn't have any issues until September. Now, it says that I do not have a Gold subscription. Under subscriptions it shows that my Gold expires February
19, 2019. What is the problem and how can I fix it? I have removed my account and signed back in and still won't work.

He would be able to recover everything on a new console. The progress and all the content follows the account.

Having gold doesn't matter. His account information would still be on the Xbox servers so he can recover it anywhere he wants.

If you have an active gold subscription and sign in with that account on any console you have all the benefits of the gold subscription.

Are you singing in with the correct account?

Does this account have a gold subscription?

If someone has a gold subscription and the "other" xbox is their home console that may be why you appear to have gold on one but not the other.
