And if you wish to continue playing Minecraft, you will have to buy Minecraft: Java & Bedrock Edition using a Microsoft account.

Hello again, when you start the account recovery process you must put the email you had before being hacked, not the email that was put by the hackers.

That wouldn't help them. Their minecraft account (through mojang) was compromised and the person who did it migrated the OPs minecraft account to their own Microsoft account.

I had my Microsoft account hacked and products/games like Minecraft merged to a different account before they deleted my Microsoft account linked to this email. I have all of the original information regarding my Minecraft account before I had migrated it with Microsoft (creation date, TID, access to original email, date of migration to THIS email, gamertag). I have been in contact with Minecraft Support and Microsoft Support and they both are redirecting me to either one so it's been a bit like ping pong.

This account I am trying to recover is my deceased sister's so its of utmost importance that I try everything at hand to get it back.

If the account was hacked 2 years ago, recovery may no longer be possible. You must act quickly in these cases to have a good chance of recovering the account.

Thank you for posting on the Xbox Communities Forum. In early 2021, Mojang started the process of migrating Mojang accounts to Microsoft accounts. This was done as Microsoft's account system is more secure, and to make it easier to sign in.

This migration period ended on September 19, 2023. To ensure all your Minecraft account data transfered to your Microsoft account, you had to migrate your account before this date. However, players were given another chance to transfer their Minecraft license to a Microsoft account via the post-migration process.

The post-migration ended on December 18, 2023, and it is no longer possible to sign in with a Mojang account or migrate to a Microsoft account. If you did not migrate your Mojang account to a Microsoft account before December 18, 2023, I'm afraid you will need to purchase Minecraft again using your Microsoft account. I apologise for any inconvenience caused by this.
