Account not connecting to the internet

I have been attempting for about a year now to login to the Xbox one console companion app on my windows 10 PC so i can join Xbox parties from my PC and talk to friends. Each and every time I have received the same error message saying "You'll need the
Internet for this." and giving me error code (0x800704cf) I originally believed this was a problem with my Ethernet connection to my PC and looked on every forum and tried every possibility to fix this problem by changing settings, etc. with no success. I
just recently tried to login to a family members account on the same PC and internet on the Xbox app and was immediately logged in and everything worked as it should. I now realize there is a problem with my account that is giving me this issue but have not
been able to find any solutions as it seems nobody else has had this same problem. What can i do to finally resolve this issue?

I checked all of my info and had no problem logging into the Microsoft or Xbox website. All payment, security, and all other info is up to date. I have tried to download the Xbox beta app and received the same error saying I am not connected to the internet.
If there are any other possible solutions to this issue please let me know

Hi there,

be sure to try and login with your account at
http://account.microsoft.com and verify if all information is up to date and correct, like billing info and payment options etc.

Also login at
http://account.xbox.com to see if that works without issues.

If that all works without issue, please try to login again with the Xbox Companion app, if that fails also try and download the beta version for this app, it should be available in the store to download.

If there are any results please let it know.

I forgot to mention that it would disconnect again after 30mins of being reconnected to the network.

Try removing the account from the console, doing a hard restart, hold the power button for 10 seconds while the system is on, and then re-adding the account.

If the console works fine and log in when connected to your hotspot, it is likely an issue with your home network. If possible, have you tried connecting your console with a LAN cable instead of WiFi? This may help isolate the issue.

If the issue doesn't happen with a wired connection, it could be caused by the WiFi's signal. If the issue persists with the wired connection, it may be related to your router's configuration or your ISP's connection.

For help with troubleshooting and improving your home network, I advise contacting your internet provider and/or router manufacturer.
