    my best friend and I share an Xbox one and he has the active live account up until two weeks ago I could use live on my account as well since he has it but now all of a sudden it won't let me is there some reason for this?

    I have read some posts and I would like to say I have Xbox live, I have had it for several years so that isn't the problem.

    I have also deleted my profile and downloaded it again.. I have tried contacting Xbox support by "chat" as the recording said when I called and it's not doing anything.

    Im pretty sure I know what messed up my account. I downloaded the Xbox smart glass app on my phone while at work. After trying to log in a few times and forgetting my password, I reset it, only to come home and find this error..

    Does anyone know how to fix this since I can't get ahold of Xbox support?

    Hey there OrderedDisc!

    If you guys are sharing gold through the Home Console set up, it sounds like your friend's Xbox Live Gold status may have lapsed and he no longer has Gold. You will want to speak to your friend to figure out what's going on at this point.

    Check your account settings to make sure your account allows online play . https://privacy.microsoft.com/en-us/xbox-one-privacy-and-online-safety

    Only Gold membership accounts are allowed to play online games. Make sure the account you're trying to use is a Gold account.

    Probably a caching issue if it's happening on the same console with different accounts. When the console is on, hold the power button down for 10 seconds. This will perform a hard reset and clear the cache. Try again once it's restarted
