Account not allowed play on Xbox network

I just bought the new call of duty and when I try play multiplayer it suggest Xbox game pass to buy and says my account cannot play on Xbox network. This is despite the fact I can still play other games online with friends and was playing the older call of duty recently. What does this means and how do I fix it?

Do you have an active Game Pass Core (previously named Live Gold) or Game Pass Ultimate subscription (includes Core) active in your account?

I ask this question because paid games on Xbox consoles, like the one you mentioned (MWIII), require having an active Game Pass Core or Game Pass Ultimate subscription to access online features.

However, a Core subscription is not required for free games like Fortnite, Call of Duty: Warzone, Halo Infinite multiplayer, etc.

It says this current profile is not allowed to play Xbox network

It's the same with Modern Warfare II. Warzone is the only Call of Duty that can be played without a subscription because it's a free to play game.

You need Game Pass Core or Game Pass Ultimate (which includes Core) in order to play online.
