Account name was changed?

Hello, my account was locked from suspect of a hacker trying to get in, when I recovered my account name was changed to ""

I spoke to xbox support and they said to post to the forums to have it changed.

I got a great Gamertag, but now i cant play my 360 games on backwards compatible. Wat do?

So with Microsoft allegedly releasing all of those names into the wild, me and my friends looked for cool, OG names. I was able to get the name Vyper, but ever since I changed my name I haven't been able to play backwards compatible games. I would load the game and it would tell me that I needed to re download my account to be able to play, but when I tried to re download it it tells me "Sorry, this profile can't be downloaded. Original Xbox Live accounts aren't supported anymore. Create a new account instead." Was I actually able to get an OG name, but Microsoft still thinks its an old account, or am I doing something wrong?

that type of name (random name/number combo) means you got a forced name change as your old one was against the rules. if you want to change it to something else, you will have to pay 10 bucks to change it. FYI do not change it to another name that is
against the rules as too many force name changes results in perm ban of Live.

 

You weren't hacked so don't worry there. However, your old gamertag was found to be in violation of the Code of Conduct. So a Forced Name Change was issued to your account. You're given a random name and will have to pay $9.99 to choose a new gamertag.
