Account Name Change time

I have 2 accounts. I changed the name of 1 to open up the spot to change my Gamertag on my main account to my second account. There is almost no possibility that anybody could have taken that account name within 15 seconds of me changing it. How long
does it take until I can change my name to the second account's former name? I did this because I don't want the numbers on the account if I change it and its been over 20 minutes as of me posting and is still giving me the option to change but with numbers.

try searching the name up in the find friends bar, if someone took the name, their account will be visible from there.

I'm assuming you are referring to the name your Xbox One greets you with when you sign in when it says "Hi, xxxxxxx!". You can change this over at
https://account.live.com. Under
Overview select Edit Name. Whatever is entered in the
First Name field is how the Xbox will greet you. Hope this helps!

that type of name (random name/number combo) means you got a forced name change as your old one was against the rules. if you want to change it to something else, you will have to pay 10 bucks to change it. FYI do not change it to another name that is
against the rules as too many force name changes results in perm ban of Live.

Will this have a delay in updating? It still greeted me by my gamertag.
