Account Merging.

Hello,

For a long time I've been wanting to merge my fathers and my own Microsoft account. This is due to me, as a child, using his Microsoft account on Xbox Live and therefore all my old Xbox achievements, game progress, saves, etc, being saved onto his Microsoft account. Recently he decided to stop using the msn email associated with this account (moving to an iCloud email instead) and gave me access to the account.

Now I'm seeking to merge the account, but after searching online it seems this service is no longer provided due to 'security risks'. Not entirely sure why this is a issue when I have access to both accounts..? But anyway, My father noticed that this Microsoft account seems to be linked to his iCloud account, even though nowhere does it show this.

Today I attempted to access the account for the first time and was unable to login. Upon attempting to reset the password, the email to send the reset to is in fact my fathers new iCloud account (haven't reset the password yet and it's 2am and he's asleep, will tomorrow). If merging is impossible (would ideally like to know why as it's immensely frustrating to be unable to do this), then is it possible to sever this strange tie between the iCloud and Microsoft account?. This tie has prevented my father from being able to make a new Microsoft account with his iCloud email and the email is supposedly in use... when it's not... its just strangely tied to this old account somehow. So it's quite important that at the very least, we're able to sever this tie, if merging is impossible...

Summary:

Is it possible to merge 2 Microsoft accounts, I have access to both. If not, why not?

How and why is my fathers iCloud merged with this old msn account. Is it possible to sever this (as it's posing quite an issue for him).

I greatly appreciate any help that can be provided.
