Try removing your account and clearing the cache, reinsert your account.

Try the following:

• Reset your Windows Live ID password.
• Delete & Recover your Gamertag using the new password.
  
• Check back here if you're still having issues.
  

Try performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this. Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely.
Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes.
Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.

Sorry to hear about what happened. This is clearly not the situation I want you to be in. Just to set your expectation, due to our account safety and security, only us the account owners have the ability to recover our accounts and verify their ownership. Even a Microsoft Support cannot recover our accounts on our behalf because they're protected by the security information we have setup on our accounts which we only have access to.

I recommend that you let your sister recover her own account back and ask her to try other relevant information in filling out the account recovery form here https://account.live.com/acsr.
