Account is blocked due to age

I made this account to ask this question because my other one is restricting me access. I changed the age on my other account so that my son could use it for now on. The account did not tell me that turning it into a child's account would mean a guardians approval would be needed for sign in's. Now, every time I try to sign it, it asks for an account sign in from a guardian. The problem is, we never set one up and it won't let us set one up now that it is for a child. This is frustrating because there are games on that account we purchased ourselves. If the only reason I cannot access them is because Microsoft failed to warn me of the need for a guardian account, I think I have a right to complain. We paid good money for all those games and I would like that account changed back to an adult profile. If there is any question, you can look at the account and see that there is no guardian set up for it. This is a lose lose for anyone in my position. Can someone in a technical support position please reach out to me to fix this issue? Thank you!

One thing a fellow Moderator asked, when we were discussing this, do you get an error code 8015d021?

I have removed your previous thread as it was a duplicate thread to this one. Please don't create multiple threads, as this just takes up more space and can get confusing when both threads are actively engaging the community.

With regards to this, you could try logging into your Microsoft Account overview page here: Microsoft account | Your profile and changing your date of birth again. This may revert you back to an adult.

If that does work, please create a new account for your son, and set up family settings that can keep him safe online and allow you to manage their account. More information about this can be found in this article: Add people to your family group (microsoft.com)

If that doesn't work, you are going to have to create a new account for yourself using the article above to create a Microsoft family. Then you will be able to apply family settings to the account, thus keeping your child safe online. You will have to use a PC though, to do this.

I am surprised that the system allows you to convert your account to a child, without a guardian account to be created

so you are gladly helping a 12 year old child circumvent age related blocks, he is 12, the game requires you to be 18. This is a parental issue and technically we should not be assisting.

The game looks at the DOB from the xbox live account and uses that, does not matter if you change it on the 2K account, he will not be able to play due to this age requirement.

Maxim, unfortunately the only way to recover your account is through the recovery form, okay? Neither we here in the community nor at Microsoft can recover it for you. So you need to fill it as many times as it needs to be able to recover it, okay? Keep in mind that usually, it takes 24 hours for an answer on the form.
