Last night i went to reset my password because I had forgot it. After resetting it, I guess i mis clicked on one word and wasn't able to log in so I went to go reset it once more and was not able to do so since my phone number option was timed out and popped up with "you've requested too many codes today. please try again tomorrow." I tried again and tried to guess the letter which i failed to do so. i couldn't log in again today since I still got the phone number pop up. I had even used the sign in helper and found out my account was blocked from so many incorrect password attempts and had to use the account recovery page and nothing was done as my request was denied even after giving so many correct answers to their given questions. my last option is to possibly call support to see what to do next. I found out a couple of minutes ago to use my recovery code key. I put it in and I don't understand what the page says. It says "For your protection, replacing your security info takes 30 days. Because you turned on two-step verification, you need to up-to-date security info to sign in to your account. During the waiting period you will not be able to sign in to sites or services with your Microsoft account, but will be able to sign in to devices or use your existing app passwords." then explains what happens when you avoid the wait. but what does that really mean. Can I still log into my account with this recovery code without any cause of my account being locked out forever, change my password one more time and still be able to access my services normally? thank you for whoever can help me and respond.

The authenticator.replacement key is same as your proofs

Once you lose it and resell it you must wait 30 days this is why you keep your info upto date

If you're getting told that the password is incorrect on multiple platforms, then the password is most probably wrong... Maybe you should consider resetting the password and try to login right after to make sure that there aren't any issue within your account.
(Also consider using a new password for your account). As a long term fix, after resetting your password you should consider turning on 2-Factor Authentication, that will both make your account more secure by adding an additional layer of security, and using
the authenticator app you can approve sign ins there without having to use your password.

I have the same issue. Even though the correct login info is typed, when it asks whether to store the password it would say incorrect password and log out. Very annoying. This occurred after I changed my hotmail account name

you can always work with the windows live team at windowslivehelp.com and work with them to reset the password

as long as he remebers all the important validation answers

also i'd use the more info box to write info about the account to make up any incorrect info

same issue as BusiestNoah. at first it was saying that my email and password were incorrect, however using the exact same login info i was able to sign in at the xbox website. After a few more attempts to sign in it started going straight to cod 80151011.
was having this issue last night and the xbox server was getting worked on to fix the problem, I went to sign in this morning and the problem still exists, except xbox now says the server is fine.
