Account has xbox Gold but can't play multiplayer

I have Xbox Live Gold, my account and purchase history says I have it, but I can't play online at all. It wants me to buy xbox live Gold and just sends me to the screen to buy it. I have tried hard restart, tried a "fix" for a similar issue saying it was
a corrupt profile and didn't work, deleting my profile and re-downloading it on my xbox one. It just happened after I started playing a backwards compatible game called Iron Brigade, I was having no issue prior. In fact I was online playing multiplayer right
before it.

Can't access mulitiplayer

I bought my xbox one x today, and i can't play any multiplayer games online. It says my account doesn't have multiplayer priviliges. I redeemed the 14 day trial for xbox live gold and bought a month. But i still can't play online? what can i do? my settings
are set to allow multiplayer, and i'm using an adult account.

Is this the account you are trying to play on?

Online Xbox multiplayer requires a Gold membership subscription to play. If your account is a free Silver account, you can't play online with it.

Sorry to hear you can't play online. You would need to have a Gold membership attached to your account in order to access multiplayer features.

If there is a gamertag that has your console set as it's Home console AND has a Gold membership then you can have that gamertag add you to it's Family from the Settings menu and you can then share the Gold membership on your account and access multiplayer
features.

If your child wants to play multiplayer games on the 360, he will need a gold membership. But if he plays games on the xbox one, he wont need a gold membership as all accounts on a Xbox one has gold if the main profile has gold.

Hello there. You need to be a Gold member to be able to play Online Multiplayer on Xbox 360. You can't with a Silver Account.
