Account Hacking

My account was hacked and I am still currently fighting with the hacker and waiting for Microsoft to resolve the situation. This has started with a simple xbox log in hack and escalated to me being locked out of my business access through both skype and
outlook. I spoke to 6 different employees and took all their names. All of whom assured me my issue was being "escalated to tier 3" when each person claims to be the one making the escalation. I find it hard to believe that a company such as microsoft, who
has programming in everything from my phone, to computer, to entertainment devices, has this much difficulty retrieving my account in its entirety without giving me the answer of 3 to 5 business days of a hacker having total access to my account and making
fraudulant charges or that after years of no changes that an entire account being changed over didnt send out some red flags. Is 3 to 5 days of absolute insecurity to "hopefully" get my account returned truly the best answer anyone can give me?

people don't need to change email address when compromised, they need to change password and make sure they have proper security... that includes not using passwords on more than one service, if one service is compromised all those details are sold.

Someone in another country will pop up with it, even if it takes years to happen. My skype password took approximately 4 years from compromise to have someone log in and use it.

This app makes you click approve when logging into websites, and it's instant once you click "accept" the website will load in normal.

Any devices that don't work with the app like xbox 360 will have you go to website once to create a password (it will generate a password that isn't easy) and you use that on those devices to login with your normal user name.

Last year almost 1 billion got paid out. That was a huge jump from 2015 where only 32 million was paid out. With a jump like that Im sure it will grow even more.

The account you're using to post on the forums, is it the account in question? If so then I highly advise you change the password to this account to insure that it's secure. It's highly unlikely that you were "hacked" but more to the point you may have been
"phished", where by someone has gained access to your account via means of finding out your information; either by guessing or you unknowingly providing certain information which aids their attack.

I'm sorry if this post isn't helpful to you but if you have gone through both steps above and contacted support then you have done exactly what you need to. No one here on the forums can help escalate this any further. Most of us are just gamers like yourself.

SOUNDS EXACTLY LIKE MY CASE. 2 WEEKS IN and he still is on my account. Also filed a BBB claim with no reply. Never realized how petty microsoft is until you need their help. they'll take your money with no problem tho.

 

For future reference; I would highly recommend using a two-step verification for your account(s). A single factor, in this day and age, is considered obsolete.
