Account Hacked?

Hi guys,

I've recently tried to start an XBox Live account on my 360 and found someone else has already started an account using my Hotmail login details. I've deleted their GT from my console and changed my password and settings, but I've found I'm still not able
to start a Live account using my current Hotmail account.

Is my best course of action to start a new Hotmail account and then start a new Live account...... or is it possible to delete the hackers' account and start fresh?

Guys, I've not bothered to search as I wouldn't even know quite where to start, so apologies if this is common knowledge already.

My question is............

I've already signed over my XBL account to the ONE, which works fine, but what I'm wondering is how do I get the kids and misses across from the 360 ?
I'm the only one with a live account and the 3 other profiles where made on the 360.
Whilst I was out MTB'ing today the "kids" wanted to play Zoo Tycoon, but since I have to ONE set up for face sign in they had a few problems, to the point where on my arrival home there were about 6 new accounts made in their attempts to sign in *Facepalm :facepalm:
It's been so long since the other accounts were made on the 360 I can't even remember what processes were required.
Do you need an email addy ?

 

contact xbox support to let them investigate all unauthorized access.

if your account has only low value by itself (purchases, gametime, whatever you care about) you may register a new email for starting a 2nd gamertag, you may also wait until support was able to help you regain access on your 1st gamertag

 

Thanks for that. Just *** off that I've got to wait a month for Microsoft to verify my change of details to improve my security settings. I'll set up another email to get me by in the mean time. Cheers!

 

Please be aware that it is also possible that you accidentally created this account on your email address. More people than you think do this accidentally without realizing that they have done it.

This is the most likely reason if nothing else relating to your email address has been accessed. Remember, to create a gamertag they would need to know both the email and password.

 

I did think about the possibility that I'd created the GamerTag myself, but if that's the case, I should have been able to access my Live account through that Tag and I couldn't. The GT name meant nothing to me either (I always pick names/passwords that
mean something to me..... I'm less likely to forget them).

The avatar was also exactly the same as mine, but with slightly darker skin (like it had been changed just enough to know the difference between the two).

While trying to change my password on my Microsoft account, that GamerTag also "logged itself out". There were just too many things pointing to something suspicious.

Anyway, I'll start a new Hotmail account (one just for my XBox account) and go from there.
