Account hacked on Xbox - who to contact?

My sons Fortnite account was hacked from his xbox. Apparently, the person who stole it from him has been communicating with him trying to get My son to give him ( the hacker ) his password or a code of some kind......i know, it dosnt make sense to me either.
And when my son said no, the hacker told him that he deleted my sons account.......? This “ hacker “ then changed my sons email and blocked him from his own account. We tried to reset it snd were able to log back into for about 30 minutes before the hacker
took ot again......Ive tried sending help requests, chat forums, contacting microsoft and xbox directly - nothing. My next move will be to try contacting Epic games but i have not been able to reach any live person by phone through anywhere....It has been
almost a week now and i fear that his account is probably long gone now but I still am trying to do something for him. He is devastated. I know this kind of thing happens but what do you do? Has anybody been successful at getting their hacked account back?
Who do i contact? What steps do i follow to report it? Etc.....any info or suggestions would be great - thank you -

you can also click on the Contact us button on that page.

select Family and online safety as the category

select I want to protect my account

skip the Covid notification

scroll to the bottom of the options and select Request a call.

this will require signing in so create a new outlook account for just for contacting Xbox Support.

The only way to do this is to contact xbox support by going to support.xbox.com/contact-us

If you account was truly hacked then they would have you create a new MS account without a Xbox profile on it and then ask you questions about your hacked account to verify ownership of it then they would send that information up to their escalations team
who will verify that information and if your account was hacked would then transfer ALL of your information over to that new MS account that you created.

contact xbox live support by phone for a comprimised account and contact sony IDentidy theft program(i'm not sure if you are covered by their program for this they didn't really explain the proccess but sony did warn users that if their gamertag and email
and password is shared with any other service you should change it)
