Account hacked and deleted

Hi, my account was hacked and then deleted this morning - deleted, not just a password reset - grrr!

How can I actually talk to someone from microsoft to sort this out - all microsoft help forms require me to enter my account name and of course my account no longer exists

There is a fantastic automated help bot that gives me a link to 'talk to a person' - which takes me straight back to the 'contact us' page - Contact Us | Xbox Support - where there is no means to actually talk to someone and explain the issue

people don't need to change email address when compromised, they need to change password and make sure they have proper security... that includes not using passwords on more than one service, if one service is compromised all those details are sold.

Someone in another country will pop up with it, even if it takes years to happen. My skype password took approximately 4 years from compromise to have someone log in and use it.

This app makes you click approve when logging into websites, and it's instant once you click "accept" the website will load in normal.

Any devices that don't work with the app like xbox 360 will have you go to website once to create a password (it will generate a password that isn't easy) and you use that on those devices to login with your normal user name.

Last year almost 1 billion got paid out. That was a huge jump from 2015 where only 32 million was paid out. With a jump like that Im sure it will grow even more.

Ha, thanks for that - cunningly the whole process on that recovery thing is triggered by entering in your account name (ie. the email address of the account). Which of course has been deleted

So I get 'Try entering your Microsoft account again. We don't recognise this one.' Inevitably. Which is precisely why I need to talk to someone from Microsoft. I've spent a couple of hours trying to get round this conundrum but it's defeated me.

The problem requires may 20 to 30 seconds explanation on the phone to a live person, but an infinity of time dealing with forms and chatbots.

A helpline contact phone number (UK please ) would be great. Or maybe an online chat with real people?

I can't be the only person ever to have been in this situation?

Yes, I've spent quite a lot of time on that page, but entirely failed to find anywhere where I can request a callback. I've looped round the autobot several times, which offers me a link to 'talk to a person' - which puts me straight back onto that page.

There may well be a link there that will solve all my problems but I just can't see it - if you can point me in the right direction I'd be very grateful

Try this:

When you go to
Contact Us to
get it to request a callback follow these steps:

• Step 1 ----select Xbox One
  
• Step 2 ----select no
  thanks, then select category system update
  
• Step 3-----gives some troubleshooting or help tips
  
• Step 4 ----select request a call from support
  

Once they call explain the issue and they will be able to help you.
