Account Gammertag

I talked to a supervisor called Michael on XBOX support on the phone, and we were talking about changing my gamertag. I have a friend who made a XBOX gamertag and he hasn't used his account in 9 years. I tried to call support to claim the gamertag because
it's my friends, I wanted to know if I'm able to get that gamertag. Supervisor Michael told me to comment here. He told me that I have a chance of getting it changed here or call corporate. My friend told me I can gerbil his gamterag but he doesn't have access
to it anymore, inactive for 9 years, I want to claim the gamertag, please help, thank you.

my acount was hacked!!!!!

This is not my gamertage my own gammertag was hacked and changed by him/my real gammertag is oH summit.

i have ben wanting to change my gammertag to F L o W it says its not taken when i searchit on my friends list but when i try to change my Gammertag to it it says its taken can u please help me

you are going to have to wait till whenever it's free

Gamer tags are NOT an on demand service

If you want it quicker it's probably faster for your friend to change his name and then you change your name

I'm just going to call corporate, my friend was able to do this, if you're going to do it for one person you have to do it for everyone

ngocphi is correct here. If it's your friend's account, then you will want to work with him to have him change his gamertag and let you know when he does so that you can change yours right after. No one here on the forums, or through phone or chat, are able
to give someone another gamertag from someone else's account. I'm sorry to see any confusion surrounding this.

If the gamertag was not released as part of
our release last year, then it is unavailable; unless, of course, your friend is able to change it.

To clarify, the first free GT change is only within the first 30 days of the account and if you were assigned a random GT. You don't get a free GT change if you chose your GT up front. Sorry for the confusion.
