Account error due to the Security.

"Add Security". That overly annoying prompted. I'm currently stuck, trying to re-download my account after numerous failed attempts of trying to fix this.

-Cleared cache

-Changed Password on proofs.

-Deleted Profile only.

-Made sure Caches were deleted again.

-Aaaaaand trying to redownload account.

Nothing seems to be able to fix this. If I can't find a solution by the end of the week, I will be ending all subscriptions (Xboxlive, hulu, etc...) and rolling over to Playstation. As much as I love the Xbox community, this error kinda feels like a forced
retirement for xbox users, so to speak.

Im getting this error 831188FE message???

Have you checked your security proofs? I got this error code back in May and it was due to an error with the security proofs.

i cant sign in!!! help!!

ok, so a while back LIVE sent me a message over xbox live and said that i needed to enter in a security code for my account so no one else could sign in to it. i ignored it. a few days ago i was at my friends house and i couldnt download my account. an error code popped up. now when i try to sign in to xbox live on my computer, it makes me go through all this crap. my email hooked up to xbox live is hotmail and it is microsoft too. i have to enter that stuff in my hotmail account too! Help!

Hi there,

is similar to what you have tried before, but can you try these steps just in case:

1. Check account.live.com/.../manage to see if at least two security proofs are setup and verified. A phone number and alternate email would be best

2. Delete your profile from the console, be sure to delete only the profile, to do so check this link:

support.xbox.com/.../profile-move-delete

Also delete any corrupt profiles if present (will show as corrupt)

3. Clear the console cache, see this link for the how to:
support.xbox.com/.../clear-system-cache

4. Turn the console off.

5. Turn the console on.

6. Clear the console cache one more time

7. Redownload your profile.(See the same link as 2.)

Have you checked your security proofs? I got this error code back in May and it was due to an error with the security proofs.

Sorry to hear about what happened. What exactly is the reason they have stated from their email?

Please be advised that due to our account safety and security, the Customer Support may not be able to help us recover our accounts depending on the information they can gather from us. Microsoft is taking our security very seriously that's why they provided us all the security measures we need to protect our accounts from anyone. Even them cannot access our account's sensitive information due to the security in place on our accounts.

I am afraid there's none other than actually seeing it. Even if you knew the account gamertag, Xbox Support cannot still provide us the account email address for security reasons or due to our account security.

Thanks for the reply. I'm sorry to hear about the error message. If you tried to log in or refresh the account credentials on various devices, this will enable the security feature and lock the account. Unfortunately, you will have to wait 72 hours to sign
into the account due to being locked.

Do you have the 2-step verification enabled on the account?
